Holiday Thank You Cards

_DSC0003

Hi everyone! It's Suzanne here... Are you ready for the New Year? I sure am, but before we say farewell to 2012 I thought I should make some thank you cards for all of the generous and kind people that touched me in some way during the holidays.

I wanted to keep my card pretty simple and graphic, so I started by heat embossing the chevron pattern from Little Tangles in white onto kraft cardstock. Then I diecut the Studio Calico patterned papers and added the Basic Grey alpha stickers to the tag, along with some matching red brads and candy cane ribbon. Last, but not least, I decorated the inside with some matching patterned paper and a sentiment from Kindness Matters.

Have a wonderful New Year! I hope it brings you lots of time for crafting!

Happy Birthday Linda!

Happy Happy Birthday Linda!

Hi friends! Danielle here with a very special post! Today we are having a surprise birthday blog hop for the super sweet Linda Trace.

You should have arrived from the lovely Jennifer McGuire's blog. If you're lost or would like to start from the beginning just swing by Mary Dawn's blog.

Here is the card I made to celebrate. I chose words from the Kindness Matters set that really describe Linda :) While she makes some really fun and cute cards, I tend to really admire how many of her projects have a very elegant and classy feel, and so I tried to channel my inner Linda for this card. (I hope it worked! haha)  Linda is such a dear friend, and so funny to boot. I hope she knows how much we all love her!
Happy Birthday Linda
Inside I stamped the "you are" from the set. I'm going to add a little personal message add a few goodies, and then send it Down Under ;)

Tangled Up in Christmas Day 22: Christmas Gifts

Hello! This is Pamela for Day 22 for Tangled Up in Christmas. Let me show you what Christmas favours I made for my friends this year with my Neat & Tangled stamps.  This time, I used Neat & Tangled's Elves at Work and Sweet Home for my little gifts.

tangledinxmas

I made two types of Christmas gifts this year.  A pyramid favour box with some Lindt chocolate inside and a tag set with various designs on them.

Christmas Favours

I first die cut the favour box with some cardstock.  Then I die cut a few triangles for my designs.  These little favours boxes are perfect for the recipient to hang on their Christmas trees!  My tag set features three fun shaker tags packaged into a 100% handmade box, designed to fit my tags.

How is your Christmas crafting coming along?

For You Tag

Merry Christmas, everyone! Have done wrapping your gifts? :) Nina here today to share a quick tag!

Love the sparkle stamp in the Elves at Work set.

I masked the little bow from Elves at Work and stamped the candy cane from Sweet Home. So I don't need to worry about the tiny bow getting loose on its way to the recipient :)

Off to make more of my tags! Happy crafting!

Tangled up in Christmas: Day 20- stamped gift package

Hey! Kasia here with another Tangled up in Christmas idea! I'm challenging myself this year with brown packing paper as the only gift wrap and today I want to show you idea how to make it a bit cuter! You will need only some brown paper, washi tape and of course Neat and Tangled lovely stamps to pack your gifts with a little twist!

Wrap your gift in the paper and secure it with washi tape- I got mine from IKEA this year and it was really inexpensive- perfect for wrapping stuff!

On the place where tapes cross each other place a stamped image. I really like the look of stamps from Santa's Note and of course Do not Open placed in there! Than if you wish scatter some stamped snowflakes or stars on the package for more detailed look.

I really like gifts packed this way, they work as a cute decoration too! To be honest I don't even want to open them now! :) Wishing you bright and merry days in this final countdown till Christmas! :)

Tangled Up in Christmas Day 19: Sweet Wishes

tangledinxmas

Hi Everyone, Chari here with Day 19 of Tangled up in Christmas.  I have been seeing lots of the inktense pencils on blogs lately so it inspired me to play with my colored pencils some.  No I don't have any inktense pencils myself...well not yet anyway, I'm hoping Santa might bring me some! :)

SweetWishes

I heat embossed all the images in white embossing powder on Neenah Desert storm cardstock.  Then I broke out my Prismacolor pencils and colored everything.  Because I wanted this card to be very "sweet" I applied clear rock candy distress stickles to all the images.  I think it gives them a nice sugar coated look and makes all the sweets sparkle.  I added red stickles to the tree just for something a little extra.  This card is nice and flat and would be perfect to send through the mail for the holidays.

Tangled up in Christmas: Day 17

tangledinxmas

Hello everyone!  It's Amy here with Day 17 of Tangled up in Christmas!
So, we're in to the last week before Christmas........anyone else scramble to need just a tiny little "something" for someone on your list?  I know I do and I have the quickest little packaging idea for gifting some of those yummy Ghirardelli chocolates!  (My personal favorite is the Sea Salt Soiree but that's a whole other topic!)

Here I've used those tiny snowflake stamps from Santa's Notes to stamp a bag topper.  I adorned the topper with a baker's twine bow!  Easy peasy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Come back tomorrow for more inspiration with Tangled up in Christmas!!!

Hello my lovely little tangles, Danielle here.

Can you believe how close we are getting to Christmas?! Not gonna lie, makes me a little sad that it always comes up so fast.  I still have to finish up my cards and get them in the mail...oops!

I'm here with some fun news! Neat and Tangled now has a company gallery over at Splitcoast Stampers!

Be sure to add your projects using the keyword neatandtangled   Make sure there are no spaces!

And I just had to share this fun card by Kathie. I actually met Kathie in real life at our Copic Certification classes back in October :)

Seriously, how fun is this!? I love the little scene, and the jumping gingerbread man just makes me happy!

I cannot go without mentioning something that is weighing so heavily on so many hearts.  As a human being, mother, and wife of a teacher, I am beside myself after the Sandy Hook tragedy. I am sure many of you, like myself, want to help in anyway possible, and here is a wonderful opportunity to get involved from a crafty perspective.

Getting more from your stamps

Hello!

I'm here today to show you some ways to get even more out of your stamps.

I know all too well, that 'gotta-have-it' bug that can hit us in this crafty world, but sometimes we need to be able to make a card or project quick-smart using only the tools we already have.

So I've made two Christmas cards, using very few Christmas-themed stamps.

In this first one, I sketched a circle in the centre of a strip of kraft cardstock, then I took the larger leaf stamp from Fresh Blooms and stamped it  in a circle (I butted the 'base' of the leaf up with the circle so that they were all touching and nice and even).

Then, for the string hanging the wreath, I used the Little Tangles set and masked off most of the swirly stamp image using some sticky tape (Scotch tape) and inked up the small portion I needed. Then I removed the tape, (which reveals a sparkling clean stamp, except for the part you wanted inky :)) and stamped it above the wreath. I really love how the twirly pattern gives the card a little movement, as though the wreath is almost bouncing up and down. I also stamped the sentiment beneath the wreath.

Next I took my Prismacolor Pencils and coloured them in using gorgeous bright, vibrant greens. I didn't over-blend the colouring in, as I wanted it to look hand-done. I love how bright the Prismacolor pencils stand out against the kraft--its so lovely in real life.

To finish off, I carefully tied a TEENSY bow (seperately from the card) and adhered it on top of the wreath using a gluedot. Lastly I swiped some white Colorbox ink around the edges to set the whole piece off more. It helps to define the edges of that panel of kraft and allows it to stand out more from the backing cardstock. It also makes the edges seem more purposeful, and allows your eye to 'stay focussed' on the wreath, rather than wandering around looking for an end-point.

Now onto the second card! A totally different look, but fun to do nonetheless!

I stamped the tree from Little Bear and a pile of presents from Elves at Work, then using the same 'masking' technique from the last card, I took the swirly stamp from Little Tangles set and I masked off two of the three 'lines', then I inked it up, removed the tape carefully, and I stamped it across the top of the card, on a slight angle. Next I coloured in the loops (along with the tree and presents) with copic markers and voila! Christmas Lights!

Lastly I added some gems to the tree-for lights, some glossy accents to the christmas lights hanging from the ceiling and a sentiment!

I really love how this little scene came together quite quickly and only used one christmas set. (for the presents and the sentiment). You could easily have substituted something else for the same type of scene though.

Well that's it for me!

I hope I've given you some ideas on how to use your stamp sets in a way you might not have thougth of!

Don't forget the first challenge is up over at the Little Tangles Challenge blog! We'd love to see what you make--perhaps something inspired by today's post?

See you again soon!

Tangled Up in Christmas Day 15: card with many small elements

Hey, it's Kasia here today with a little project made for Tangled up in Christmas blog series! I made this card a while ago and I used here many small images from various Neat and Tangled sets and all together they create a cute centerpiece of my card.
I stamped some candy canes and peppermint  on white cardstock, cut it out carefully and colored them in. I did this same with gingerbread people but I decided to stamp them on craft cardstock- it gives them lovely, ''baked'' look :) I placed all the small elements around Do Not Open stamp and added some snowflakes to my background for a bit more messy look.

You could also group some small elements to decorate gift tags, placecards on your Christmas table or even gift packages! Have fun!

Tangled Up in Christmas Day 14: Treat Bags

Good morning friends,

Do you give edible treats and baked goods for the holiday? I certainly do, and I am always looking for crafty ways to help dress up my treats.   I want to share with you today how I used my Neat and Tangled stamps to create a holiday house from a small kraft coffee bag. I usually opt for the bags that are lines with the plastic coating to keep any oils from the baked treats from marring the outside of the bag.

dsc_0331

I used the scallop rows from Little Tangles to create the roof and trimmed it with the peppermint from Santa's Notes. The peppermint fits perfectly inside a 1/2" circle punch.

dsc_0333

I re-purposed the gifts from Elves at Work as windows along with the Santa's Workshop sign. The north pole from Santa's Notes became the door frame and some gum drops from Hey Cookie accent the snowdrift landscape.

Your bag is now ready for whatever yummy treats you plan to place inside. Happy Baking!
