2015 Design Team: Introducing Mayuri, Anna Kossakovskaya, and Amy Tsuruta!

Hello friends! I've got 3 more incredibly talented design team members to (re)introduce you to ;)  These 3 ladies were with us for 2014, and we are so lucky to have them sharing their talents with us again!

Hi, It's ~amy~! I live in Washington State. I'm the proud mother of two lovely kids and am engaged to "thee most spectacular guy" who supports my crafting obsession. I work part-time for a start up biotech company in Seattle, have been blogging since 2007. I absolutely love being part of this crafting community!!

Hello, I’m Anna! And I'm very passionate about scrapbooking and cardmaking, it is really my great passion! This is my hobby since August 2011, when I made my first card. And since then, I still can not stop constantly making new discoveries in this wonderful world of creativity and improving my skills.
I'm really crazy about clean and simple and american styles. I love to create everithing! Layouts, albums, project life, cards and altered items. I love, that scrapbook allows us really remember all our moments and memories...

I studied the protection of the environment at the university, and not worked a day in my  specialty line. Then I began to work as a bank analyst. Various reports and tables - that's what I love almost as much as scrapbooking, haha! At the moment I'm on holiday childcare. Our daughter is two years, and yet we have a kitten Diana, and I call them my demons - because they are very active and often drive me crazy!
And will tell you a terrible secret - I'm a gamer and I love different games! Sometimes in the evenings I play with my husband, but unfortunately, I have very little time for this my hobby.

Hello, I'm Mayuri and I'm so excited to be continuing with the Neat & Tangled Design Team for 2015! I'm a Graphic Designer turned Project Manager working in a design agency by day, but becoming an avid crafter by night. My style of card-making ranges from clean and simple through to arty, textural and experimental. The crafting / blogging community has had a huge influence on my card-making - I hope I too can be equally inspiring and encourage you all to get stamping!

We will introduce the last two design team members on Friday! Tomorrow Danielle will be here with a card and a special announcement! :)

2015 Design Team: Introducing May Sukyong Park and Miriam Prantner

Hello friends!

Back today again with two more introductions for our 2015 design team!

Please give a warm welcome to May Sukyong Park and Miriam Prantner! May has played along at Little Tangles frequently, and Miriam has practically been a part of the team already :)

Hi there! My name is May Sukyong Park. I was born and brought up in South Korea, and moved to the US in 2009. I now live near the coast in beautiful Southern California with my wonderful husband and two adorable cats. I had not enjoyed any arts and crafts until I was first introduced to stamping by my friend in 2010. Then I started scrapbooking, and slowly moved in to making cards which became my biggest hobby where I have found my passion. I love clean and simple design based on creativity. I'm so thrilled and honored to be part of the Neat and Tangled design team. I look forward to working with all these talented ladies on the DT and seeing your creations too.

My name is Miriam Prantner.  My husband Andrew and I have two daughters Ellie (7) and Carina (4).  I've been crafting ever since I was little, scrapbooking for over 15 years, and making cards for the last several years.  I love to dabble and try new techniques/styles, but I tend to have a pretty CAS style even when I'm experimenting.  I've been designing stamps and dies for Neat & Tangled since late 2013, and am really excited to be taking on a larger role with N&T this year.

2015 Design Team: Introducing Emily Leiphart and Rachel Izakowicz

Hello friends!

Last week we said a sad goodbye to some of our design team. But no worries! We still have some familiar faces, and some lovely new ladies joining the Neat and Tangled family for 2015!

Today I'd love for you to meet Emily Leiphart and Rachel Izakowicz.  They are both incredibly talented! You may remember Emily for when she joined us for our October 2014 release. And Rachel was a regular player over on our challenge blog, Little Tangles.

Here is a little more about each of them:

I’ve been married for a decade and have a very energetic and crafty six-year-old son who has made numerous appearances in my videos!  I have a background in corporate research but I’m also an accomplished makeup artist so I still draw a lot of my inspiration from the fashion world.  My decision to stay at home after my son was born has taken me to so many places in blogland.  I’ve learned so much from the talented friends I’ve made and I’m honored to have been chosen to join the team at Neat & Tangled. I hope you enjoy the projects I make with these amazing products!
(She has a card for you too!)

My name is Rachel Izakowicz and I am so honored and excited to be part of the Neat & Tangled design team for 2015. Originally from Canton, Ohio, I am now living in Zurich, Switzerland, by way of London, England. Most of my time is spent being a mom to my very busy 3 year old boy, but I try to make the most out of nap times and get in my craft room. I have been scrapbooking since I was young, but I began stamping about 6 years ago after taking a class at a paper crafting store in London - I was instantly addicted! I was amazed by the endless possibilities of an ink pad & a stamp and that fascination is still with me now.  I love creating cards, Project Life layouts and the occasional scrapbook spread. I enjoy learning new techniques, using gorgeous papers and challenging myself to make the most out of my time & supplies. I can't wait to work with the amazing Neat & Tangled stamps this year and look forward to all the inspiration from this talented design team, Danielle, and all of the crafters out there sharing their Neat & Tangled projects!

Be sure to visit their blogs and leave them some love here!  Stop by again tomorrow for two more introductions!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all our Neat and Tangled friends celebrating! I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with lots of love and laughter (and yummy food!).

I had to make some last minute cards (surprise) and filmed a video too! I decided to create a cozy street scene using our Winter Wishes set. I did the shading of the background with Copics. I love the shades of gray with the pops of red and white. I'm always in awe of how quiet and still the world becomes when snow falls. I think this card captured a little bit of that feeling.

Sending you warm winter wishes!

December Guest Designer: Lea Lawson

It's Friday! Yay! We have our last post from December guest designer, Lea Lawson. It has been such a joy having her with us this month!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Hello to my new Neat & Tangled friends!!  Lea Lawson here today with my final post & project as the December guest designer!  I've had so much fun using these fun products, and I really appreciate you all welcoming me this month with such sweet comments!

I can't get enough of shaker cards this season, so today I've created another one for you!!  I used the beautiful "Warm Wishes" stamp, with the Winter Wonderland sequin mix to create my card today!  Check it out:

Card Directions:
  1. Cut an A2 card from red cardstock.
  2. Cut the deer background paper slightly smaller, then adhere.
  3. Cut white cardstock slightly smaller than that, then diecut a circle from the middle.
  4. Cover the back of the circle with a transparency.
  5. Stamp the image to the transparency using opaque white StazOn ink.
  6. Adhere foam adhesive all around the circle so sequins can't escape, & to each corner.
  7. Pour the sequins in the middle of the card base.
  8. Adhere the white stamped block to the front, making sure all of the foam is securely adhered.
  9. Shake the sequins around to loosen them up.
  10. Accent with a sequin bow & enamel dots to finish.
As I sign off with my final post as this month's guest, I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas & happy holiday season!!  May the new year bring you peace, love & joy!

I would love for you to keep in touch with me, as I continue to use my Neat & Tangled goodies!  You can find me at the following links:

Soft card

Hello, dear friends! Today I (Anna) am here to share with you a very soft and light card. This is perfect for when you want to tell somebody something very special. And the phrase "My world is brighter because of you" from Origami Map set, perfectly reflects this.

I embossed the phrase in white on a label die cut and then added a little bit of pink Distress ink on the label and sprinkled it with water. When everything was dry, I stamped rosettes from the So Very Blessed set.

And as a final accent to brighten things - tone on tone sequins (Crystal Clear, Pink Lemonade, Pixie Dust).

Wish you a bright day!

So very blessed - 3D style!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a simple technique that works brilliantly for so many of the Neat & Tangled scripty sentiment stamps ;-)

This is like repeat stamping, but with a slight twist - instead of making a pattern, you offset each impression, leaving you with a sort of 3D effect.

I took some watercolour paper, three shades of blue Distress Inks and stamped the So Very Blessed sentiment repeatedly, starting with the lightest and ending with the darkest. The very last impression was done with some black dye ink so that it could stand out more.

For some added detail, I used a white gel pen to fill in some of the open areas in the leaves and flowers, and clear Wink of Stella over the black areas. I also splattered small drops of ink onto the watercolour panel before foam mounting it to a dark blue shimmery card base.

To finish up, I added a twine bow, an array of Neat & Tangled sequins and a few gemstones.

I think this technique will work so well with Warm Wishes, Be Full, My Favorite and Hope Anchors!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Sparkle Holiday Card

We all need a bit of sparkle in our lives, right? How about a simple sparky holiday card using the fabulous Merry & Bright set?

I will honest with you, this is my most favorite holiday stamp set of all times! Perfect for so so many different cards and other projects too!

This particular card appeared after a simple stamping session. I wanted to create a fun partial background using one of the ornaments from the set. I stamped it a few times alternating the direction and the color of ink. And ended up having somewhat of a pink and grey ombre effect which I just adore!

All is Calm, All is Bright

Hi there!! It's Kristen here!! Today, I'm here with a clean and simple card. It's super easy to reproduce for Christmas cards! Let's just get to it!

For this card, I used Winter Wishes. I LOVE this stamp set. It's super simple and totally my style. I stamped the trees in green and I covered them in enamel dots I colored with copic markers. I then stamped the house and sentiment in black ink. To finish off the card I added a snow strip for a hill.

Here's a close up!

Make sure to stop by Neat and Tangled's Facebook page for the latest updates! Thank you so much for stopping by and we'll see you next time and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!! :)

December Guest Designer: Lea Lawson!

Happy Friday! We made it!  And what better way to kick start your weekend, than with a post from our December guest designer Lea Lawson!  She has a gorgeous card for you today! I absolutely love how she created a holiday card using our Origami Map set!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Hi again, Neat & Tangled friends!!  Lea Lawson here today to share another project as this month's guest designer!  I'm so excited about how this project turned out...I really hope that you like it!!

For today's card I combined the Christmas goodness of the Very Merry stamp set with the non-holiday themed Origami Maps stamp set, which paired together even better than I thought they would!  Check it out!!

Card Directions:
  1. Cut an A2 card base from white orange peel textured cardstock.
  2. Cut Strathmore art paper slightly smaller than the card base.
  3. Stamp & heat emboss the origami map in white to the front, then let cool.
  4. Loosely watercolor the inside of the map in teal, then the outside in light blue.
  5. Let the watercolor dry completely, then lightly wipe the paint off the embossed lines.
  6. Lightly mist the back of the paper with water, & place between two books to flatten.  (It should take about 10 minutes to dry flat.)
  7. Once dry, adhere the watercolor block to the card base.
  8. Stamp the sentiment to the lower left corner in Versamark onyx black ink, then add a glittered @ sign to finish it.
  9. Diecut the santa sleigh & star from glittered paper, then adhere to the front with foam adhesive.
  10. Accent the star with a jewel to complete the card.
Thanks so much for checking out my card today!! I will be back next week with one more seasonal card to share with you as the guest this month.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Lea

I used the Stop and Go set:

I also used Falling Flakes:

I used watercolors to color my tag.
