Guess What?

I have some more exciting news to share...

Remember that amazingly awesome new challenge blog I told you about, A Blog Named Hero...

Well I am happy to announce that I am a part of their new Design Team :)

I am so excited to be a part of this group. I love Hero Arts, I love Linda, I love Mary Dawn, and I love all the other ladies on the team with me.

As a part of today's big announcement I made a  really fun Hello card, here's a peek

To see the whole card stop what you're doing RIGHT NOW and head straight over to A Blog Named Hero and check it out, and see who will be joining me on the team! We're going to be having fun challenges twice a month and TONS of inspiration. I kid you not, I'm talking something new every other day! It's amazing.

See you all Monday!

A-mazing!

Hi friends!

Yay for it being Thursday, only one more day to the weekend!

It's very rainy and cool here today. Luckily we're having friends over for a playdate so no need to leave home.

Wanted to pop in quickly to share a fun card I made a while back for a publication call. Clearly Paper Crafts did not think this card was A-mazing enough to pick up LOL I thought I was pretty clever with the straight A's.

Any questions about how I made this, just shoot me an email. See you Saturday :)

YCU + Annoucement :)

Hi Friends!

I'm here today with a fun card and a fun announcement.

I am happy to share that I am joining the Design Team over at Young Crafters Unite!  I couldn't have been more happy when Britta and Marie asked me to join :) I love all the ladies on the team, and am such a fan of their challenges, so I hope you will join in the fun with me.  If you aren't familiar with this challenge blog you must check it out!

The challenge this week is No Coloring Allowed...
The sponsor is the always wonderful Simon Says Stamp

The beauty about stamping is that you can always paper piece to get color! Since we just went to the beach, I had summer on my brain. To answer your question before you ask, I'm not sure of the exact names of the patterned paper because they came in a Studio Calico kit. And I hand wrote the sentiment...I've been doing that more often just because often times I don't have the phrase I want, or my alphabet sets are too large/small for what I'm looking for. Plus, it's a nice personal touch.

I hope you enjoy, and thanks to all the ladies at YCU for welcoming me to their team :)

Happy Earth Day - A Special Card!

Happy Earth Day!

I'm here today with a special post and sneak peek to celebrate.

Little known fact: I have my Bachelor's degree in Biology, and my original plan was to get my Master's in Conservation Biology. Well, I got pregnant (twice), so that got put on the back burner.  I still try to do my part when it comes to helping our environment because it is very near and dear to my heart.

I made a card for Simon Says Stamp that is all about recycling.  How so, you ask?  Well, first of all I recycled one of my old card layouts (because I liked it a lot).  You can see the original card HERE.  Secondly, I recycled one of these babies

Every Thursday the husband and I get chai tea lattes from Starbucks and I save the sleeves. I reuse them for various things, but here is what I did for this particular card

I unfolded and cut out a portion of the sleeve. I sprayed it with my white Mister Huey's, but that sleeve seriously just sucked it up! I needed something a little thicker to get more coverage so I got out some white acrylic paint. That did the trick!

And here is another way to save some trees...do you have a jar/bowl/box of scraps like this? (Truth be told I have 3 separate containers with various scraps).  Why not put some of those things to use??  I fished through here and found a few things that would work perfectly.

Here is a sneak peek of my card, to see it in it's entirety head over to the Simon Says Stamp Blog and check it out.

Let me know if you use any "recycling" in your paper crafts!

Good Luck!

Happy Friday! We made it!

Stopping by to share a card I made for G.  You see, he starts his little pre-school this Fall. I know, I know it's months and months away, but he is so excited to go to school it's contagious. I've been working on some little school things for him now, because I know once summer comes we will be way busy.

Also, I am running my first post-baby 5k tomorrow so I could use some good luck too! I'm pretty nervous.

I hope you all have a great weekend. Be sure to stop by on Sunday for a special post. I also have some fun things to share with you next week!
