Clean And Simple Love with Taheerah

Hey everybody! Happy Thursday! It's Taheerah here with you today to share a card!

Sometimes you just can't go wrong with a Clean And Simple design! And just because it's a CAS design it doesn't mean you can't add interest in other ways! Today's card also helps stretch those stamps just a little too!

Here's what I came up with:

I love how this turned out!

I started with a white card base and added a panel of cardstock that I wet then peeled a layer off to give a rough texture. I used one of the arrows on the My Favorite stamp to add some interest in the top corner. It's also hard to see in the photo but I flicked on some shine mist too just for some added interest!

I added a paper heart die cut from a vintage book, then layered on top of it a heart stamped on white cardstock from the Sunday School Songs set. I added the sentiment from one of my all-time favourite sets, Gifts For You, accented with some awesome sequins from the Birthday Bash Sequin Assortment and I was all done!

I hope this card brought some fun to your day! Thanks for stopping by!

Simple Ombre Cards

Hello! Rachel here today with a super simple and quick project. I wanted to create a card set for a friend, but I was short on time - enter my favorite sentiment and Ombre inks.

I use this sentiment a lot (you may have noticed that already from all my previous Neat & Tangled projects!). I adore Danielle's handwriting and this sentiment is so gorgeous, you really don't need much else going on with your card. I wanted to keep it simple & 1 layer, so I opted to stamp these with the Hero Arts Ombre Inks. You could also achieve this using a few different color ink pads - smaller pads would be easiest- but, I wanted to give these new inks a try. The sentiment is large, so you need to go light to dark and then dark to light to cover the entire stamp.

I kept the rest of the card super simple. I used a thin strip of washi on the top & bottom of each card and tied a coordinating piece of twine around the top. I love the bright colors and simple design. It was easy to mass produce these and a set of 10 was ready in no time.

That is all for me today. These cards were lots of fun - have a go with any sort of ink pad and link it up below - I'll pop by & check them out! Wishing you a great week :-)

Wishing you happy birthday card

Hello everyone! Anna is here today and I want to share my new card. It’s one layered, but doesn’t look too simple and I love all the small details! Used few techniques here.
I like shadows of blue and green, they perfectly combine with gold and black colors. I colored a part of the background with Distress Inks (colors from the left to the right: Stormy Sky, Broken China, Peacock Feather, Evergreen Bough). Than sprickled it with water to get this spots effect that I like so much!

Next step – I made a white embossing on vellum with the stem stamp from the Scandinavian Flowers set. And than I cut a branch of it. It has very interesting look.

Than the last part of job - to add the finishing touches. I cut a word ‘wishing’ from the yellow foam with the glitter as main detail, made white embossing on the black cardstock for the second sentiment (it’s words 'happy birthday' from A Long Time Ago set). Than sticked all together and add some enamel dots.

You Got This! Free Digital Stamp

Hi friends!

Danielle here!

A few days ago I posted a photo of some hand lettering I did over on our Instagram page. Several people said they would love it as a stamp. So don't worry - that will happen! But in the meantime, here it is as a free digital version!

As with all of our free digital stamps, this image is copyrighted, so when posting projects online or submitting for publication credit must be given to Neat and Tangled.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Thank You Cards using Simple Coloring by May

Hey everyone! May here today sharing a couple of flower wreath cards that I made using Paris and All My HeartMy inspiration came from my own card that I made last year. Here is what I came up with:

I created a wreath image by stamping the cluster of blooms from Paris in black. Then I colored the images using Sakura Gelly Roll pens in bright colors. I finished off the card with the sentiment from All My Heart.

I chose some grey cardstock for my second one as a card base. This time I traced my images with Uniball white gel pen to enhance the stamped white lines. Next, I colored my wreaths with gel pens in black, silver, gold. After stamping the sentiment in white, I traced the lines with the white gel pen again to make them dark.

Hope you loved my cards and got some inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!

Clean and Simple Kitty Cards by May

Hey everybody! It's May here today sharing clean and simple cards. I wanted to create fun scenes using a kitty image from Meowwwww set along with some other stamps from old releases.

For my first card, I created my own balloon using a flower image from Sacandinavian Flowers set by masking it off the center. After stamping the kitty from Meowwwww set, I added some hand drawn lines to complement my little scene using a black pen. I colored my images with Copic markers, then I finished off the card with the sentiment from Just Hello set.
I created a kitty floating over the sea filled with fishes for the next card. I stamped the waves from Sailmates set and the sentiment from My Plate is Full set.

For my last card, I created a pond using a circle image from Dala Horse set and inked some blue inside using a blending tool. After stamping the images and coloring the kitty, I added the sentiment from Be My Valentine set.

That's all I have for today. Hope my kitty cards brought some fun to your day. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Double Partial Die-Cutting with Birthday Tags

Hey everyone,

Mayuri here to share a card that uses Laura Bassen's wonderful double partial die-cutting technique. I achieved this with the Birthday Tags die-set along with some circle dies - its not as difficult as it may look!

I began by marking out a horizon line on a piece of cardstock to use as a guide for the partial die-cutting technique, and laid down a circle die on top, taking note of where the line was. I then partially die-cut the circle where it met the line by making sure my cutting plate only covered that part of the die and the piece of cardstock. Laura demonstrates this beautifully here.

I removed the circle die and replaced it with the Birthday Tag die, again taking note of where the guideline appeared. This was also partially die-cut in the same way as the circle. All that was left for me to do was cut the connecting lines on either side and I was left with a bespoke die-cut panel!

I stamped a sentiment from the Giving Tree set with black dye ink and set the panel aside. I sponged some Distress inks directly to a white card base starting quite dark at the bottom and fading out towards the top. I then foam mounted the die-cut panel onto the card base.

I stamped the flowers from the Paris set onto some scraps of inky cardstock with black ink, and then fussy cut a few of them out. These was adhered around the aperture and finished with a few Crystal Clear sequins.

I hope you'll try this technique - it was a lot of fun experimenting with the Neat and Tangled dies!

Thanks for stopping by ;-)

To Have A Friend Like You

How wonderful it is to have a friend like you! Yes you! And you, and you too! I honestly consider all of you to be my crafty friends, and you know what? Crafty friends are best kind of friends!

We support each other in our crafty addictions, we travel for miles go to crops and classes together, we chat for many many hours about the most silly things like colors of sequins or number of cards we've made. But the most important part is, we understand each other and appreciate one another even thought we seldom meet in real life.

Here's a simple grey + gold card to celebrate our friendship!

I used my current favorite sets (I know I say this every time, but they truly are my favs!) - Scandinavian Flowers and Dala Horse. If you know me, you know I love to create backgrounds of all sorts and this is exactly what I did for this card.

I started by stamping a sentiment in the center of a dark grey panel of cardstock, next by using it as a guide I added branches from Scandinavian Flowers set. I stamped them repeatedly rotating each every time I made an impression.

Instead of using flowers that were designed to go with the branches I used little blooms from the Dala Horse set. I stamped several at the ends of the branches and also in between and so filled the blanks.

I used ClearSnap embossing ink for my stamping and therefore was able to add gold embossing powder than heat set this gorgeous piece. To give it a bit of shine I used my Wink Of Stella glitter pen and added glittery highlights to the flowers and leaves. Finally I added a touch of glossy accents to the large elements on this project.

I could have kept this a one layer card, but because my cardstock warped a bit from all the heat I mounted it onto a panel of sturdy cardstock, used foam adhesive and adhered onto a light grey card base. Simple and fun!

Neat & Tangled / The Cut Shoppe Blog Hope - Day 5

It's the last of day of our week-long collaboration with The Cut Shoppe, an Etsy store which sells a variety of cut files (in SVG/PNG format) for use with electronic die cut machines.

Each day this week we'll be featuring projects using The Cut Shoppe's files, and The Cut Shoppe team will be featuring projects using Neat & Tangled stamps on their blog.  Be sure to stop by each blog as there are giveaways!  The Cut Shoppe will be selecting one lucky commenter to win a $25 credit at the Neat & Tangled shop, and we'll be selecting one commenter from our blog to win a $20 credit for  The Cut Shoppe.  In addition, The Cut Shoppe is offering everyone a special discount this week.  Use code TCSNT30 for 30% off at the Cut Shoppe April 13-19.

We're ending things with a bang today!  First up is Rachel:

Ashley's cut files are gorgeous and go so well with Neat & Tangled stamps. I used Funky Florals  and cut a variety of flowers, focusing predominantly on the more solid images. Next, I pressed some Distress Inks onto my acyclic block, spritzed with water and smooshed the die cut shapes into the ink to create a faux watercolor look.

I stamped the My Favorite sentiment on the right side of the card and heat embossed it in white. I arranged the flowers and leaves along the left side, giving the solid flowers a good coating of glitter.

And last, but not least Taheerah is sharing an ingenious use of cut files:

I used the Rosey Posey cut file and printed and foiled it on vellum using my Minc.  This was fussy cut and layered over a watercolored panel that I randomly stamped using the tiny heart from Gifts For You.

The sentiment is from Everyday Labels, and for a bit of color and contrast I added a Birthday Bash sequin.

What a great week it has been!  We have so enjoyed working with The Cut Shoppe's files.  Don't forget to head over to their blog and leave comments on all the hop posts this week.  We'll be drawing a winner over the weekend!

Neat & Tangled / The Cut Shoppe Blog Hop - Day 4

Time flies!  It's already Day 4 of our week-long collaboration with The Cut Shoppe, an Etsy store which sells a variety of cut files (in SVG/PNG format) for use with electronic die cut machines.

Mayuri here today to share a couple of cards for the Neat & Tangled collaboration with The Cut Shoppe and their awesome range of cut files. I made two cards, each using a different cut file and combining it with some Neat and Tangled stamps – here’s the first:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled collaboration with The Cut Shoppe.
I began by layering a piece of pattern paper with a piece of vellum - I'd stamped the Time Warp image onto the vellum with Delicata Golden Glitz ink. To make the gold stand out a little more, I brushed over it with Gold Perfect Pearls and misted lightly with water to set.

The star cut file was die-cut on my Silhouette Cameo out of cardstock, spritzed with some bright Dylusions ink sprays and adhered to one side of the paper layers. I added a wood veneer embellishment for a bit of interest too.

The sentiment comes from Gifts for You and was stamped onto a scrap piece of pattern paper and heat embossed in gold. This was also adhered to the vellum along with a few sequins before foam mounting to the card base. Here's the second card:

I began by die-cutting the leaves on my Cameo out of some lightweight pearlescent paper and again spritzing with some Dylusions sprays. I heat set and then trimmed a section of this down to fit the front of a card, and adhered with dots of Glossy Accent

The sentiment comes from the Dala Horse stamp set and was heat embossed in white on black cardstock. I trimmed it down roughly and foam mounted to the card front.

I finished up with a scattering of sequins! Be sure to stop by the Cut Shoppe blog for more inspiration, and come back tomorrow for our grand finale!

Neat & Tangled / The Cut Shoppe Blog Hop - Day 3

Welcome back for Day 3 of our week-long collaboration with The Cut Shoppe, an Etsy store which sells a variety of cut files (in SVG/PNG format) for use with electronic die cut machines.

It's Amy with a couple projects combining some of my favorite products from Neat & Tangled along with new favorites from The Cut Shoppe!  First up is a layout:

I used Origami Map along with The Cut Shoppe's Around the World cut file.  Perfect combo to scrap one of our photos from a recent trip to Japan.

I designed a card too:

I backed the Cut Shoppe's Funky Florals with green cardstock.   I love to use the Tiny Triangles Nice and Neat Die as a journal card.  It's fun to layer goodies on top of it.  The sentiment is from Dala Horse

Now it's time to head over to the Cut Shoppe blog to see what their designers created today, and be sure to come back tomorrow for more inspiration!

Neat & Tangled / The Cut Shoppe Blog Hop - Day 2

It's Day 2 of our week-long collaboration with The Cut Shoppe, an Etsy store which sells a variety of cut files (in SVG/PNG format) for use with electronic die cut machines.

Hey everyone!  Miriam here to share today.  I must confess that I have sorely neglected my Silhouette the last several months, so I was excited to dust it off and pull it out to create some cards.

We were able to select several files to use for this week's collaboration.  I really love background cut files, and one of the great things about the Cut Shoppe is that you get the backgrounds in both 12" x 12" and 8 1/2" x 11" formats.  The 8 1/2" x 11" is perfect to create card backgrounds.

I've got carried away and ended up with three projects to share today.

This first card features the Geometric Graffiti background.  I cut the background, and then leaving it intact on the cutting mat stamped the Origami Map image.  I then used ink blenders to apply a rainbow of colors to the design.

The map image was then stamped onto a card base.  Then I started removing the die cut triangles and adhering them to the card base by lining up the stamped images.

The sentiment was embossed on a black strip of cardstock and popped up over some bits of vellum and punchinella.

My second card uses the Hip2BSquare background.  Again I used the 8 1/2" x 11" version shrinking it down to A2 size.  Once it was cut, I removed the cut from the sheet leaving the negative pieces intact.

I used my detail scissors to snip out a frame/opening within the die cut.  I placed the altered die cut over my cardstock panel and lightly traced around the opening with a pencil.  Then I removed the die cut piece and stamped around the opening with the large solid flower image from Paper Cut Flowers using several colors of ink.  I also stamped a sentiment from Paper Cut Flowers.

The die cut piece was then adhered to the stamped panel.  For some extra interest, I removed some of the negative cuts and colored them using the ink pads I used for the stamping and then placed them into the die cut background.

My last card is very CAS.  The focus is the Hope Anchors stamp and Arrows with Attitude Background die cut.  I simple die cut the background and just tacked it down a bit on the card base.

The sentiment was embossed on some vellum and the then stitched to the card base/die cut.  I didn't actually use any adhesive on the vellum as I wanted it to kind of float over the die cut piece.

A few Crystal Clear sequins finished it off.

OK, you definitely want to head over to the Cut Shoppe blog.  There are prizes to be won, all you need to do is leave comments on both blogs all week, so make sure you check in each day.
