Video: Distress Ink Watercolor Card by May

Hi, crafty friends! It's May here sharing an easy watercolor card that I made using the Giving Tree stamp set. My inspiration came from my own card that I made last June. Here is what I came up with:

Loose Watercolor Card_Neat and Tangled_2

I started by stamping the images from Giving Tree with a waterproof ink: Hero Arts Hero Hues black ink. Then I watercolored them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Cracked Pistachio, Iced Spruce, and Tea Dye.

After that, I stamped the little heart from the Jump Start My Heart stamp set with watermark ink. Next, I heat embossed the hearts with gold embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment from the Heart of Gold stamp set with watermark ink on a piece of black cardstock. Then I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and mounted the sentiment banner to the card front with foam tape.

I made a quick video tutorial showing you how to watercolor with distress inks. You can watch the tutorial here or in HD on the Neat and Tangled YouTube channel. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up and share with your friends.

I created another card with same design but using different watercolor medium: Nicholson's Peerless Watercolors. Which card do you like?

Rainbow of words

Hello everyone!

Today I'm here with two similar cards in rainbow colors. Bible Journaling and Bible Journaling companions are my favorite stamps sets from our September release! Do you like them? I love to combine different fonts and sizes and this time I decided that I need nothing but words on  my card. I chose the same stamp combinations for both cards, but played with their locations. First, with the words right justified.

And the second one with the words centered. I like that the letters are empty inside so I can color them. To get a perfect match, I used a blending pen and colored them with the same inks I used for my stamping. I chose soft colors to echo the kindness and light of the words in my message.

To complete the look, I added some matching enamel dots. Don't they look fun?

Thanks for visiting us today!

Scored Shapes: Happiest Birthday to You

Hello there!
Mayuri here to share a card using the new, Scored Shapes dies and a sentiment from Happiest Birthday.

I can see myself having so much fun with these dies - I left them intact for this particular project, but used individually opens up even more possibilities!

I took a panel of watercolour paper that already had some inky goodness on it (I never throw anything away!) and simply ran the Scored Shapes dies through it, setting aside the positive pieces. On the main panel, I stamped a sentiment from Happiest Birthday with Versafine Onyx Black ink.

On a white card base, I sponged some Delicata Golden Glitz ink in the areas that would show through the die cut spaces on the watercolour panel. To intensify the gold, I brushed some gold Perfect Pearls over the ink and misted lightly with water to set.

I foam mounted the die cut watercolour panel to the card base, revealing the gold through the apertures. I then adhered some of the positive pieces to the front along with matching sequins from the Sunset Shimmer sequin mix.

You could easily replicate this card with patterned paper, Gelli prints or anything that is lying around in your craft room ;-)

Maple Leaves Thanks

Hello friends!

I hope you are having a great weekend!  I am looking forward to a relaxing Sunday!

I am so excited to be over on the Butterfly Reflections blog again!

I created this card using our Maples Leaves Journaling Card stamp set.

While I love the whole card stamp, I REALLY love the leaves on their own.  To create this card I stamped the entire maple leaves journaling card stamp several times on watercolor paper.  I did some painting, let dry, and then cut out the leaves.  I arranged them in a circular pattern, and put some twine and the sentiment in the middle.

Heart of Gold Shaker Card

Hi, it's Emily here today with a card that uses the newest release products. I used the Scored Shapes Dies to create cascading shaker hearts which are filled with Gold Dust Sequins. Then I created a custom heat embossed sentiment using the Bible Journaling and Bible Journaling Companions stamp sets.

To complete the front of the card, I splattered three colours of mist on opposite corners, added a few sparkling clear sequins and adhered everything on to a sheet of patterned paper from Basic Grey's B-Side 6x6 paper pad.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
