Sending Love with Laurie Willison

Hey there! It's Laurie Willison here with another guest post for February. I have a quick and easy card using the set Love Notes along with the Love Notes Dies.

For the background, I inked up the little heart image and before stamping it, I misted it with a little water so each heart would have a little watercolored look. After that front panel was dry, I stamped the "sending" in black ink.

I die cut the love die in gold card stock and the back shadow in vellum....

And then I did one more of the love die in fun foam. This allowed me to adhere the love die on to the card front with some dimension....

I added in a few sequins to finish of the card....

This is my last card as the Neat and Tangled guest for February. I want to give say a big thanks to Danielle and Miriam for having me! Hope you have enjoyed my cards and thanks so much for stopping by!

Awesome with Guest Designer Laurie Willison

Hey there! It's Laurie here with another card using the most awesome set from Neat and Tangled! It's called just that....Awesome!

To create this card, I added some black striped washi to the card base. Next, I took a piece of vellum and added in the watercolored Seeing Stars die. I also heat embossed the "looks good on you" in white embossing power. I die cut the back layer of the awesome die in gold card stock and then added in an ink blended awesome on top. (This makes me want to start singing Everything is Awesome from the Lego Movie....) Last, I took the awesome sentiment and added it to the vellum with some foam tape for dimension. To adhere the vellum to the card front, I took a piece of card stock with a "window cut out of it and used it as a mask for the back of the vellum and then sprayed spray adhesive just inside that window. Using the adhesive this way lets the middle of the vellum sick down to the card front and lets the edges lift up for a layered look.

So that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed my card and I hope your day is awesome! Are you singing the lego movie song now? :) See you soon!

February Guest Designer - Laurie Willison

We're so excited to have Laurie Willison with us this month as our guest designer.  Laurie has a wonderful fresh, bright, classic clean and simple style that is always perfectly executed.  We are so excited to see what she creates for us this month!  Here's a little more about Laurie in her own words as she shares her first project with us:

Hi there! My name is Laurie Willison. I am a wife, mom and nurse, living in Kansas. I have been paper crafting and blogging now for 9 years. You can find me over at my blog, Soapbox Creations.  I am super excited to be joining the girls at Neat and Tangled as a guest for February. I have been a huge fan of this company since the beginning and I love when they ask me to come visit.

I have a card here today, using the Big Hugs die. I am a hugger so this die makes me happy! Definitely the best way to send a hug in the mail.

To create this card, I added some Tombow Marker scribbles to a large acrylic block. Then I added in some water and pressed it down on to the watercolor paper. After it was dry, I added in some darker purple splatters, with a paint brush. I used a large piece of fun foam to pop the watercolored card front, to the card base. Next, I cut the die out of fun foam and glitter paper and adhered them together for a dimensional sentiment. After attaching the sentiment to the front of the card, I added in some Neat and Tangled Sequins to finish it off.

I will be stopping back in soon with some more cards. I hope you will stop back by! Thanks so much for checking in today. Have a great day!

January Guest Designer: Laurie Willison!

Hello friends! Danielle here! I'm excited to announce Neat and Tangled's dear friend, Laurie Willison, is joining us for the month of January.

Here is Laurie's first card for you this month. I LOVE how she used You + Me for this project! It is just perfect for Valentine's Day. To create the bubbles around the sentiments she simply stamped using the backside of the stamps. What a great way to get more from your stamps!

Simply gorgeous! And I love the little heart she added to the bottom! A perfect finishing touch!

Be sure to leave Laurie some love!

Neat and Tangled Sequin Series: Hidden Sequins

*Go HERE for Day 1 of the Sequin Series*

Hi friends! Laurie from Soapbox Creations here today with a fun card using sequins. This is a nice way to keep them loose, no time spent sticking them all down. It sort of looks like a little party in that bag :) Also nice because the recipient could re-use the sequins!

First, I took the chevron stamp from Little Tangles and stamped it down most of the card base using Versamark.  I took a little glassine bag (also from Neat and Tangled) and heat embossed the "hello" sentiment on the front with white embossing powder.  Next, I gave the top of the bag a scalloped edge then I added several colors of sequins to the bag and sealed it with adhesive.  I finished it off with some washi tape and twine for a little decoration.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, friends! Happy to have Laurie Willison from Soapbox Creations here today with her first project as our March guest designer!  And this card seriously blew me away!

This latest Neat and Tangled Releases is one of my favorites so far!  On the Strip 2 and Just Thinking of You?  Fabulous!  I have a card today to share, combining the 2 sets...

When I saw that woodgrain strip, I saw a wood background staring at me!  I stamped it several times on kraft card stock and the cut the strips out with my paper trimmer. Then I inked up the edges to give it more of a rustic look.  I added in the word bubble and a heart for some color.

I've said it several time before but I love the font in Danielle's sets!  Gorgeous!  Here is my request for a Neat and Tangled Sentiment set all in that gorgeous handwriting of yours, Danielle!  :)

Thanks so much for having me today!  Thanks for stopping in to take a peak!  Have a great Friday!

Card Hanger Die + March Release Sneak Peek!

Hi Friends! Danielle here.

Today I am sharing a project using pretty much the most genius die in the world! It was created by my friend Laurie Willison of Soapbox Creations. It's the Card Hanger Die and it enables you to display those cards that you spend so much time creating! You can see Laurie's original post HERE.

I don't know about you, but I hate it when I spend a lot of time making a card for someone only to stuff it inside a bag where no one will see it :( Or, how about cards with big embellishments that don't really fit in an envelope? Problem solved! Watch the video to see how it works! Then I have a card and bag for you at the end!

So here is my card...what's that you see? Perhaps a sneak of a new stamp from Neat and Tangled's March Release? (March Release will be March 5-7)
So Happy
And a little closer...I also used some new flair from {a flair for buttons} It's from the Minimal Flair set.
So Happy Up Close
Here is the bag without the card so you can see what it looks like
Card Hanger Die
And here it is with the card hanging all ready to go to a party :)
Gift Packaging using Card Hanger Die

Great idea, right? There are 2 styles available (I used the Rectangle die for my bag).  You can purchase them over on Laurie's blog HERE.

January 2013 Release Day 5: A Lot to Say

Well, here we are, day 5 of release week! I'm so sad it's over already! *sniffle, sniffe* *wipes tears from eyes* Sheesh, seems like it was just Monday!  Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments and excitement, it truly is contagious!

While I'm sad that release week is wrapping up, I am excited because all 5 sets are available for purchase in the  Neat & Tangled shop! Now I get to see you work your magic! AND I still have one stamp you haven't "officially"seen yet!

It's called A Lot to Say, and it's  A LOT of fun :)  Who doesn't love a big old speech bubble?

You can obviously fill it with words, but also images, scenes, use it as a background...the sky is the limit! I love how Suzanne covered up the bottom part so it just looks like a rounded card, and Pamela amazed me with how she did some fancy stampin' to make it a different size! OH, do you Project Life? Because guess what? It fits perfectly on a 3x4 insert :) I could go on and on, but instead I will leave you with even more amazing projects to wrap up this week!
