Wishing You A Merry Christmas with Keeway

Hi crafty friends! It's time for a merry crafty session with Keeway. I love pulling together all my sets to find new combinations to use them, and today I decided to bring out all the little cute guys!

My all-time favorite has always been this little dog with reindeer antlers from the Get Yeti stamp set. From this set, also is the little snowman and the left penguin. The right penguin came from the Stay Cool stamp set. I stamped the images in a dark brown hybrid ink and colored them up with copic markers. I die cut the images out with the Get Yeti coordinating dies, and Stay Cool coordinating dies.

For my layout, I framed it with the foliage from the Magical Day stamp set, also stamped four of them in dark brown hybrid ink and colored with copic markers. I die cut these out with their coordinating dies.

I created a snowy ink blended background with Stormy Sky distress oxide and also die cut a curved snowy hill out of white card stock, which was gently blended with Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink.

For the front layer, I used Neenah Desert Storm card stock. I trimmed a small piece for the top, and a larger piece for the bottom. The bottom piece was also die cut with a scallop edge using the Scalloped dies. On the lower panel, I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Pageant stamp set. I love the large font.

With all the pieces ready, I can now finally assemble it altogether, with the mini scene built and the branches and front panel framing it, and the sentiment right below. Whew! That was a lot!

Hope today's project inspires you to mix various sets that you may already have to create new and fun ideas. It's always fun to play around reimagine the possibilities that may not have been there when you first got a set!

Have a snappy birthday (with Elena)

Hi there!

Elena here, with a fun birthday card featuring some cuties from our newest release:

All 3 of the gators from Later Alligator are here for the party! I also added some of the smaller images from the set. A little bird to perch on top of a gator's snout, a fish balloon, a crawling snail and the frog stuffed animal.

To color the gators, I used copic markers YG11, YG13 and YG67 for the main green of the bodies. I then colored the scales with the darkest color, YG67. The tummies were colored with a trio of yellow copic markers: Y000, Y17 and Y11.

Once I had all of the images colored, I heat-embossed the sentiment onto a kraft banner flag. I then created a frame around them all using the largest scalloped rectangle die from the Scalloped die collection. I cut into it using an oval die from Lawn Fawn and voila! A custom frame.

I used a subtly dotted patterned paper behind the gators, and another striped one on the card base.  Nothing too bold, since I wanted the images to really pop.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

Life is a beautiful ride

Hi there,

Elena here, with another card featuring the new set, Ride With Me.

life is a beautiful ride

I think this set is so fun to work with. I stamped and die-cut a couple of party bears, and chose to work with all bright colors.

I used one of the Scalloped rectangle to create frame for my birthday scene.

The bears are wearing birthday hats borrowed from Wild Ones. I just love that little hedgehog. He looks like his hair is blowing in the wind. ha.

With both the hedgehog and the gift, I added extra black lines with a copic-friendly black pen (here's the one I use - click!) to eliminate the distracting white die-cut border and make the images flow together a little nicer.

I hope you like it, and thanks for stopping by!

Design Team Reunion: Katie Gehring

Katie Gehring here!  I am so excited to be here today to help celebrate Neat and Tangled’s 5th birthday!! I have a couple festive cards to share with you featuring the Wild Ones stamp set  and matching Nice and Neat dies.
My first card highlights the darling monkey and balloon image.  I die cut a panel of white card stock with the Scalloped Nice and Neat dies .  I used the Balloon Duo Stencil and Distress Oxide ink to create the balloon background. I stamped and die cut the monkey from the Wild Ones stamp set before coloring the image with Copic markers. The “Celebrate” sentiment is from the Just for You stamp set and a few Crystal Clear Mix sequins to add a finishing touch.
For my second card, I used the Giraffe and bird from the Wild Ones stamp set.  I again pulled out the Scalloped Nice and Neat dies and used the middle sized rectangle to cut a scallop background .  I stamped lots of the confetti images with red, yellow, and orange ink.  I stamped the sentiment, adhered the stamped and die cut images and affixed all the elements to a teal note card.
Here’s a look at both cards together.  I am so happy to have a couple of wildly fun cards all ready for the next celebration!

I hope that you enjoyed the cards I shared today. Big thanks and hugs to Danielle for having me back for this reunion!  Happy Birthday, Neat and Tangled!  Here’s to many more years of clever designs, cutie cute images, fun sequin mixes, and non stop inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Beach bums with Elena

Hi there!

Elena here, with a couple of cards featuring the new Beach Day stamp set.

The little hippo is wearing an itty-bitty-teeny-weeny-yellow-polka-dot-bikini. I love her chomping on that huge half-watermelon.

I created a frame using a rectangle from Scalloped, and sponged a bright sky behind. The tiny turtle is probably my favorite image of the entire set.

For my second card, I couldn't help but pile all of the main characters on and add a shaker element.

I kept the shaker sequins blue to coordinate with the mint sky color, and added shading under their feet to ground the images a little better.

I hope you like my projects! Thanks for stopping by!

You are my greatest treasure (with Elena)

Hi there!

Elena here, with a little pirate couple from Yo Ho Ho.  I stamped, colored and die-cut the little pirates, and set them against a dark patterned paper backdrop.

To frame the pirates, I die-cut a rectangle from the Scalloped die set, and then used a smaller rectangle die to cut an opening. I love how this separates my 2 patterned papers!

I thought a wood-plank paper would be perfect on the card-base;  the whole walk-the-plank, swab-me-deck kind of vibe.

As I often do, I cut apart the sentiment to be able to stamp it in 3 places. One, at the top in the rounded banner (from the now unavailable Stamptember collaboration, Nuts About You.) I then heat-embossed the rest on banner flags from Scalloped.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!
