On the Edge Thinking of you Card

Hi crafty friends! It's Cheiron here with my monthly post. I've been doing a lot of spring cleaning in the studio and have realized that I have a lot of stamps that have not seen any love in a long time. Today I am working with some of my older Neat and Tangled stamps - On the Edge and Just Thinking of You to create a fun card with a colorful Distress Oxide background.

To create this fun background, I used my Tim Holtz travel stamp platform and stamped in a variety of colors to give my card a sort of vintage rainbow feel.  It's not the usual traditional rainbow colors that I use, but I love the look of them in real life, they are so vibrant and almost look like they were gelli printed. I sprayed the entire stamped panel with a Distress Sprayer filled with water and blotted it with a paper towel. To finish the card, I added a heart that I inked with Distress Oxides and stamped with the sentiment from the Just Thinking of You stamp set and layered that heart onto a vellum heart and adhered it to the card. For the finishing touch, I added just a few Crystal Clear sequins.

I hope this will inspire you to take out some of your old favorites and mix them with with newer products :)

Neat & Tangled / My Sweet Petunia Bonus Post!

Hey everyone!  We've got a special treat today, a bonus card and video to share today from Iliana over at My Sweet Petunia.

I hope you all have been enjoying our week.  Neat and Tangled really pampered me, providing with their wonderful stamp sets.  Due to the weather my package was a little late.  So I just completed this card in hopes of participated at the end.

I created the background using the Clouds stamp set and a lot of masking.  The sentiment from that same set was stamped on the cloud on the Just Thinking of You stamp set.

This card is a great reminder to me that when things are tough that there is always something good hiding in it.  Sometimes, I focus on the dark and not the light.  It is so easy to get wrapped up in the trouble and forget to look around at all the people that lift you up in encouragement.

Neat and Tangled has been a great example of that silver lining.  They did an awesome job this week with their talented design team.  Especially, Miriam Prantner that orchestrated this whole collaboration.  Thank you Neat and Tangled.

Please enjoy this video.

Thanks to Iliana!  It really was our pleasure to team up with My Sweet Petunia, and I think it showed in the projects and videos this week!  Don't forget that you have until the end of the day to leave comments here and at the My Sweet Petunia blog to be in the running for the prizes - $100 to the N&T store and a MISTI!

You Make My Heart Stop Card

Hello everyone! This is Yana sharing another video tutorial with you.

Lately I've been absolutely obsessed with the watercolour and I've been experimenting with different supplies and techniques to create a watercolour look. Today I'd like to share a quick video tutorial with you to show my way of doing a watercolour background.

I'm also showing a fun way to combine sentiment stamps from multiple sets to create one unique message.

To create the sentiment for this card I used stamps from the following sets:
I encourage you to try this tecnique with your stamps and see what you can come up with.
Thanks!

ABNH Week Continues: Love You

Hi friends,

Katie here to share a card I made in honor of Neat and Tangled and A Blog Named Hero's collaboration week.

Some of my very favorite sets by the talented folks at Hero Arts are their background sets.  For my collaboration card, I paired Hero Art's Zig Zag background stamp with a few of my favorites from Neat and Tangled.

On Aquamarine cardstock, I stamped Hero Arts Zig Zag background with Hero Arts Ink in Tide Pool. The tag from Swirly Twirly Tags was stamped in Butter Bar on White cardstock.  The heart from Just Thinking of You was stamped in Pale Tomato ink and the sentiment from My Heart Sings was stamped in Soft Granite.

I trimmed out the tag and mounted it to the card with a bit of foam adhesive.  A clip and some yellow and white twine added the finishing touches.

I hope you have enjoyed all the Neat and Tangled-Hero Arts creations that we have shared so far this week!   I think these stamps work together wonderfully! Don't forget to check in with A Blog Named Hero for even more inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

Neat and Tangled Sequin Series: Sequin Panel Card

sequinseries

Hello! Chari here today with day three of Neat & Tangled Sequin Series and a video tutorial on how to make a card with a sequin covered panel behind a cut out image.  I made a card like this before so I thought I would show you just how I did it.  I used the thought bubble image from Just Thinking of You and a sentiment from a brand new Neat & Tangled set not yet released!  So not only do you get a tutorial but a little sneaky peek.  ;)

This technique can also be done with the negative space of die cut outs as well.  It takes a little time and care but has a beautiful effect in the end. :)

Clean & Simple: Thinking of You

Don't look down on Neat and Tangled's mini stamp sets! There may be less stamps in the set, but there are just as many possibilities as a full set! Today, I'm working the Just Thinking of You mini stamp set for a simple one layer card.

I stamped the little heart from the mini set a couple times in the lower right hand corner in a five different colors. Then I stamped the sentiment from the same set on top in black. To make the sentiment stand out, I used a white gel pen and gave it some shadows to accent the words. Finally, I blinged it up with some rhinestones.

Thinking of You

Thinking of You Card

Hello everyone! Nina here again. Today I am on fence! ;)

When I saw the woodgrain strip in On the Strip 2, I wanted to make a fence with it. Just stamp a few on some scrap and cut out with pointed heads; then use the thin solid strip stamp from the same set on the card front for the backing boards:

I used the muffin top from Sketchy Cupcakes as a frame for my sentiment (from Just Thinking of You set). A little masking is all it takes:

Throw in a few mushrooms from Little Bear set to add more colors to the card:

I had so much fun making this card. I hope that you are inspired to create a scene yourself :) Thank you for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

Hey Sweets!

_DSC0008

Hi everyone! It's Suzanne here today with a card that was inspired by Day 5 of the Online Card Classes' Pattern Play series. Last week there was a great video about how to use large patterns in 12x12 paper for cardmaking by cutting out parts of the pattern to make embellishments. That's what I did on my card today using the Full Bloom paper from Little Yellow Bicycle's Just Because collection:

I was also inspired by the awesome color combination in this pattern, so I used Hero Arts wet cement ink to stamp the dotted washi from On the Strip 2 along the bottom of the card, then adding the handcut flowers on top of it. Next, I stamped the bubbles from Just Thinking of You in Versamark, later adding the sentiment from Sketchy Cupcakes in Hero Arts navy ink:

I added some tiny pearls and crochet thread to embellish the card at the end. Have you tried this technique yet? I am one of the laziest crafters around and have to admit that cutting these flowers was pretty fast and easy!

Thanks for stopping by today,
Suzanne

This latest Neat and Tangled Releases is one of my favorites so far!  On the Strip 2 and Just Thinking of You?  Fabulous!  I have a card today to share, combining the 2 sets...

When I saw that woodgrain strip, I saw a wood background staring at me!  I stamped it several times on kraft card stock and the cut the strips out with my paper trimmer. Then I inked up the edges to give it more of a rustic look.  I added in the word bubble and a heart for some color.
