A Blog Named Hero Week - Day 3

Hey everyone!  We're already over half-way through our collaboration week with A Blog Named Hero.

They are showcasing projects created with Neat & Tangled stamps and we're playing along with their current challenge, Metallics.

First up today is Sveta:

Hello everyone!



This days I'm thinking about my abroad friends more often, miss them very much! So my idea was to create a card showing that I'm thinking of them no matter where they are.

I choose Origami Map Die and gold cardstock to create main focus of my card. To pin my location (more or less) on the map I used tiny heart from Hand Stitched Dies and inserted a little piece of silver foiled cardstock.



We're all communicating via web, so I decided to show it with lines using  Across the Card stamp set.

Finally, I chose Crystal Clear Sequins to add accents to my work.

I hope that you'll always be connected with all your friends and relatives in your hearts, no matter if you are together or apart!

I started working on this card by creating a small rectangle using new Neat & Tangled Bokeh circles. I selected Soft and Lovely and adhered them onto a piece of white cardstock using specialty adhesive sheets. To trim off the edges I used a Stitched Rectangle die and cut this piece onto a nice rectangle and foam mounted it onto a white A2 card base. 

I also die cut a Hello word out of Gold Mirror cardstock, heat embossed a "you make life sparkle" in gold embossing powder and adhered those onto the rectangle. To dress up this card I also added several enamel dots in blue and two gold hearts created using Hand Stitched dies.

Colour Block Pop!

Hey everybody! Happy weekend! It's Taheerah here with a post-release pick-me-up!

Colour Blocking is a great way to add bold blocks of colour to a project. This fashion trend is easy to tailor to masculine or feminine cards, and can totally change to fit the mood or recipient too!

For my card today I really wanted some bright, fun colours in a striped arrangement. Enter some of my favourite sets - On The Strip 2, Across The Card and even a touch of Santa's Tags too!

I love how bright and happy this is!!

I absolutely *love* using the reverse of strip stamps - it instantly doubles your options and widths! I stamped the reverse of the largest strip from On The Strip 2 some bold bright inks from Hero Arts - in fact I even double-stamped the teal and the pink for a bolder colour pop!

I interspersed this with thinner yellow and aqua lines, pulling out the shorter line stamp from Santa's Tags to give the desired width! The (true) side of one of the thinner lines from On The Strip 2 provided that bold pop of fuchsia!

All that done, it was time to add a sentiment. What better stamp to go with a colour block look than one of the strips from Across The Card? This married perfectly with the striped look and provided a great contrast to break up the colours!

Just one last, quick note! I run a weekly challenge on my own blog called Cure For The Monday Blues. The inspiration photo this week is full of magnificent pops of colour and even some colour blocking close to this card, totally by coincidence! I'd love it if you submitted an entry for it. Ink Splash Birthday Card - Heather

Good morning! Heather here again to share another fun card to help celebrate Neat and Tangled's 1st birthday! 

I had a lot of fun on this card (which means I made quite a mess! Heehee!) I used Ink Splash to stamp with Versamark ink, then embossed with clear ink - LOVE the tone on tone look it gives! I also inked the edges of the card with some coordinating distress ink. It still looked like it needed a little more something, and this is where a happy accident occurred...I sprayed on some white Mister Huey's mist, and it went on way too thick and heavy! So I blotted it off with some white computer paper. WOW! Not my intention - but LOVED the effect it gave!

I added a strip of cardstock attached with foam adhesive on which I used sentiment from Across the Card embossed in white, and added some Snow White sequins in a row along the thin strip. Finished off with a bit of Strawberry baker's twine from the Twinery. (Hint: when attaching twine diagonally on a card, add a tiny dot of glue on each edge to hold the twine in place at an angle!)

Happy Birthday!

Hello friends!

Danielle here, popping in quickly to share a fun card!  I am absolutely in love with enamel dots at the moment (like so many others!). Honestly, I like to buy them because the colors are just so darn pretty! I have a whole bunch hoarded and decided it was finally time for them to actually make it on a project.

Ah, once again Across the Card comes to the rescue! Need to make a quick card? Well this set is perfect for that! All I did was stamp the sentiment, add some dots, and boom!

Easy and fun!

May Guest Designer: Laura Bassen

Hi friends! I'm here today with another post from our amazing guest designer, Laura Bassen!

Hi there! Laura here, and I've got a couple more Neat & Tangled projects to share. For my first card I used the thin stripe from the Across the Card set. I'm in love with this ultra thin stripe and by using the stamp's backing as a guide, it was super simple to line up and get consistent spacing over and over again. The sentiment is from the Sparkle and Shine set.

For my next project, I was determined to use some of those delicious sequins. I made a tiny little shaker card. This card only measures 3x3" and could easily be made into a cute little tag. The sentiment is from Sketchy Cupcakes. Star Confetti Birthday Card

Hello everyone! Nina here to share a star confetti birthday card!

There are various star sizes in the Sparkle and Shine stamp set - perfect for creating a confetti look. I used 3 ink colors and tried to stamp them in triangles for a random look. 

Then cut a slot to insert the craft pin:

May 2013 Release Day 3: Across the Card

For May release we have 3 new stamp sets and 4 new sequin colors! Yay! Each day 1 set and some sequins will be revealed, with all sets and sequins being available for purchase in the SHOP on NOW! Also, all sequin colors and styles have been restocked:)

Today I am here to introduce you to Across the Card! A 4x6 set that is the same concept as our very popular On the Strip series. Each stamp measures just over 5 1/2" to ensure complete coverage across your card, no worries about lining it up! Pair that convenience with everyday sentiments and you have an essential set! I apologize that there is no video, but the little point and shoot I usually film with is missing! (aka I'm sure one of the kids hid it somewhere!)
