I Miss You with Koren Wiskman

Hello everyone, Koren here with a card using the Neat & Tangled Beavers Eh stamp set. I also used the (now retired) Making Waves die set to create my background. Hopefully you have already purchased that one, as I know that it's sure to stay in my permanent collection. If you haven't checked out the Neat and Tangled retirement sale you should definitely do that before any of the others are gone. There is also a ton of great stuff that N&T is currently offering on sale over on their website (including this Beavers Eh stamp set).

Background:
I started my background with a piece of Neenah 110 lb. cardstock cut to 3 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. I started to blend on some ink, knowing that I intended to use a circular aperture on the front of my card. I first blended on the lighter colors, working my way to the darkest. I used Distress Oxide inks in Abandoned Coral, Ripe Persimmon, Squeezed Lemonade, and Mustard Seed to create a sort of sunset sky look to my background. I used Ranger's Blending tools to blend on the ink. Once the background was well blended I set that aside to dry.

I then cut another piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. cardstock to the same dimensions. This time I cut an aperture into the upper center of the panel using the Neat & Tangled Making Waves die. This die also cuts some cloud images to enhance the sky. I mounted the panel to the ink blended background panel using 3M Foam tape.

I also cut another piece of the same waves shape but this time I cut it from a sea glass colored cardstock. I adhered the two wave elements together, slightly offsetting them from each other to give a white cap effect to the waves. I mounted this piece into position using the same foam tape.

Images:
I stamped my images from the Neat & Tangled Beavers Eh stamp set using Simon Says Stamp intense black ink onto the same heavyweight white cardstock as before. I colored my images using my alcohol markers. I have listed all of the markers I used to color this image on a color map that you can use to save the combinations for use on this or a future project.

Sentiment:
Once my images were colored and cut, I decided to create a log sentiment. Looking back I would probably use the log image to create the log sentiment, but I used a plain brown piece of cardstock this time and it looks ok. I stamped the "dam" sentiment from the same Beavers Eh stamp set using clear embossing ink. I then heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I cut it into a strip resembling the same size a shape as the log image, attempting to create the look of a dam.

Before adhering the two panels together I stamped "I miss you" from the same stamp set onto the white top panel. I used Distress Oxide ink in Ground Espresso to try to coordinate it, with the rest of the sentiment elements.

Everything was either popped up using foam tape of adhered flat with liquid adhesive to give it the appearance of dimension. I can think of so many people I miss seeing. I hope that I have inspired you to create a card to tell someone you miss them today.
