A Fond Farewell and a Welcome Back

Hi Everyone!  As we look forward to 2018 (next week!!!), we have a couple Design Team changes to let you know about.

First we're saying goodbye to Stephanie in 2018.  We're sad to see her go, but it's a busy season in her life and we wish her well.  Stephanie provided us with so much gorgeous inspiration this year!  Here are some of our favorites (click on the photo to be taken to the original link):

Happily Mayuri will be stepping back into a full time role for us in 2018.  We're thrilled that she's able to take on a larger role in the coming year and we know you will be too!  Here are just a few of the projects that she shared this year, we're so glad we're going to be seeing a lot more in the coming year (photos are clickable)!

We're very much looking forward to 2018, including our first release - next week!  Come back tomorrow to get a sneak peek at 2018's first products!

Winter with Stephanie Gold

Hey friends! Stephanie Gold here with a fun winter card for you today. :)

This Backdrop stamp is so. much. fun. It seriously may look simple but there is a huge variety of ways you can use this thing. Especially if you put on your artsy cap and get really creative ;)

I created this background by inking the Backdrop stamp a few times in different colors and spritzing it with water before putting in onto the cardstock. Then to create the light sentiment in the background I used a dark ink and stamped it right away before my background dried. This gave it a subtle look that wouldn't compete too much with the "winter" die I wanted to use.

Warmest Wishes with Stephanie Gold

Hello friends! Stephanie here to share a card featuring those sweet foxes from our new Merry Kisses set. I stamped this cute couple, colored them colored pencils, and then die cut them.



To finish off the card, I first used a couple of the stamps from the Landscape Textures set for the top and bottom border.  I also used the sentiments and hearts from the Merry Kisses set to create border.  The sentiments were stamped in green and also double as grass/ground for those foxes.



A bit of twine ties it all together.

Fabulous with Stephanie Gold

Hey NT lovers! Stephanie Gold here with a super fun little clean and simple summer card. :)

 

This sweet little girl is as much fun to color as she is to look at! I made her look a bit like my baby girl with blonde hair and I can totally picture her having a blast on a floatie like this one!!

It's hard to tell in the pictures but I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the entire flamingo to give it a bit of extra glam. ;)

Coming Soon | Stephanie Gold

Hey loves! Steph here with a fun little stork/new baby card for you today. :)

 

I started by using the new Welcome Home stamp set and stamping the stork image in yellow. I topped it with the sentiment "coming soon" from the same set.

Next I die cut the stamped image from the Doily Tag Die in white cardstock. The tag is layered over a distressed piece of pattern paper from the Pink Paislee Cedar Lane Collection and then a strip of striped pattern paper from the same collection.

The tag finished off with a wrap or two of light grey striped bakers twine from American Crafts.

Flower Medallion Celebrate Card

Hi friends! Stephanie Gold here with you sharing a fun card using the incredible Flower Medallion Builder Set. I started by stamping 5 petals and stamping them in two teal shades. I die cut one of the petals from a white panel as well and popped the panel up on the card base.

After adhering a pink panel to the lower portion of my card base, I stamped the "celebrate" sentiment in black overlapping the white and pink panels. I popped the teal petals up using extra dimensional adhesive. I finished the card off using black paint splatters and some sequins from the Bubble Gum and Peacock Feathers mixes.

Neat & Tangled / Et Cetera Papers Collaboration - Day 1

Hi Friends!  We're teaming up with Et Cetera Papers today through Thursday.  Et Cetera Papers produces specialty real wood papers and products, and we'll be showing those off for the next several days.

The Et Cetera Papers team will also be working with our products, so you'll want to stop by their blog as well.  At the end of the week we'll be drawing a winner from comments on our collaboration posts for prizes.  We'll be drawing a winner here on the Neat & Tangled blog for the $25 prize pack you see below (which consists of adhesive backed real wood cherry and birch veneer papers and as well as real wood envelopes), and Et Cetera papers will be drawing a winner for a $25 Neat & Tangled store credit.



OK, let's take a look at today's projects.  First up is Daria:

Hi everyone, Daria here! Happy to join this fun collaboration with Et Cetera Papers.

Self-adhesive sheets are very easy to use and ideal for all kind of die-cutting.  Before die-cutting, I glued it to some foam sheets and then to stick it adhesive sheets. It made it very easy and fast to assemble adding a little bit of fun dimension.

I went with simple, yet elegant no-stamping cards. I used some of my favorite dies from Neat & Tangled: Punchinella and Celebrate Dies for one card and intricate Hooray die for the second. All of them cut just perfectly.

For my today's cards I used Rustic Cherry Wood adhesive sheets from Et Cetera Papers.
I think it pairs perfectly with light blue cardstock. Variation in color in wood pattern looks awesome in real life and adds so much to the design.

Next up is Stephanie:

Hey friends! Stephanie Gold here with a little project in collaboration with Etc. Papers! I am working with these incredible Cherry wood veneer envelope and tape sets and oh my are they pretty!! Since they are perfectly coordinated already, I decided to make them even more so by creating a matching card and envelope.

I started by placing the tape on a diagonal and then using the Tiny Cuts dies to cut dashes in between each wood stripe. I whipped out a couple of older stamp sets to create the focal point of my card. Ornate Frames stamps and dies were used to create the hollow frame and my sentiment was created using Painted Hello.

I wrapped a vibrant green hemp cord on the diagonal and tied it into a bow. The wood tape looks so beautiful next to the bright colors of the ink and twine.

For my envelope I used a pink shipping tag and stamped one of the hollow Ornate Frames and adhered it to the center. I wrapped more of the green hemp cord around the envelope, tied it into a bow, but also secured it to the envelope using a Tiny Attacher. This helps keep it in place while in transit. :)

Stamped Cover Plate with Stephanie Gold

 Hey friends! Stephanie Gold here today and I am sharing a fun and super colorful card I made using a few of March's new release products. :)

First I stamped out a few fun flower designs using the Medallion Flower Builder stamp set by Miriam Prantner. I used a total of 5 different bright colors to make it really interesting and eye catching.

Then to add even more texture, I die cut the design using the new Polygon Cover Plate. It ends up being a subtle and fun added accent. And finally, I used one of the big, bold sentiments from the Medallion Flower Builder set to finish my card off. I seriously love this set. :)

Celebrate with Stephanie

 Hey Neat & Tangled lovers! Steph here, and I have a super dimensional card for you today. :) I started by creating a background layer using the Scalloped Cover Plate Die. I left a couple of the rows on the top and bottom in tact (I didn't punch out the little pieces) to add a bit of a striped feel to them.

 

To create the centerpiece I started by stamping the Floral Heart and then die cutting it and coloring it in. I used TomBow Mono liquid glue to adhere the "celebrate" die cut sentiment to the inside of the heart and popped the whole thing up on double layered foam adhesive. 

 The only thing bad about this fun card is how many shadows it produces when photographing! Lol! I hope you like it and I'm looking forward to creating with you all again soon! Much love all!

Masculine Birthday Card | Stephanie

Hey everyone! Stephanie here and I am SO EXCITED to be here for my first post

on the Neat & Tangled blog!

I put together a masculine birthday card for you today because honestly, I find them the absolute hardest cards for me to make haha. I am terribly feminine in my creations which typically suits me well but when it comes time for me to give a card to a "manly man" (aka my gigantically bearded husband) I almost never have anything on hand. So here is what I came up with!

I started by creating the wreath and hooray sentiment using the Hooray Die. I die cut it twice - once from green cardstock and once from blue cardstock - and then I trimmed the wreath away from the  blue one. I layered them on top of each other with some adhesive and lined the back of the wreath with a bit of vellum.

I used the Succulent Journaling Die to create a journaling card which I repeatedly stamped with the wood stamp from the On the Strip 2 set. I'm going for earthy here can you tell lol? ;) And for my card base I stamped a light colored ink with the "celebrate" sentiment from the Just For You set. 

I finished my card off with some stitching at the top of the journaling card and I just couldn't help myself and added some sequins as well haha. I made sure to use simple iridescent ones (that I grabbed from the new Sugar Plum set) to not be too girly.
