June 2019 Guest Designer | Karin Åkesdotter

My name is Karin Åkesdotter (PeppermintPatty’s Papercraft) and I’m from Gothenburg, Sweden, where I live with my husband and our 10-year-old son. I have been doing arts and crafts (sewing, drawing, watercolor painting, paper crafting etc.) for as long as I can remember. I also chose that path for my career and studied arts and crafts with a focus on textiles for 5 years at Gothenburg University. I now teach textile crafts and language full time to 7-9 graders. I LOVE my job and my students but of course I always wish I had more time for papercrafting and painting (-:

When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, watercolor painting, reading, exercising (orienteering, floorball, indoor walking, etc) and being outdoors in our wonderful archipelago or beautiful forests.

I have always admired Neat and Tangled for their beautiful and super adorable stamps and amazing die and stencil designs and am so excited and honored to be guest designing here for the month of June.

Today I’m here to share some cards I've made with some of my favorite sets!

I started out by creating my own stencil by die cutting circles from a sheet of plastic folder and then inked a sky/confetti style background for the super adorable, Dream Big and To The Stars

In the second card I used the inked sky as a background to a panel of clouds that I created using the beautiful clouds dies from the Dream Big and To The Stars coordinating dies.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
Karin
