Get crafty with Francine - January card & video

Hi everyone! Francine here!

Today, I'll share my first video for Neat & Tangled with you! Here is my card:

I love the wonderful splatter from the Ink Splash stamp set! I decided to stamp it in rainbow colors using Distress inks. I also added a layer of Wink of Stella clear pen for more glitter and it looks beautiful! The paintbrush is from the Crafting is my Jam stamp set. I colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Sparkle and Shine set.

Watch the video below (or HERE) to find out how I made this card!

I hope I've inspired you to stamp some rainbow splatters too! :-)

Don't forgot to stop back on Monday for the start of our January release week! You can get a first look at the new products HERE and HERE.

Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!

Happy Friday!

Today I have 2 more projects to share that were created by our September designer, Ashli Oliver!

For her first project she created a card using our new Pumpkin Everything stamp. I love the subtle layering and color combination!

And then she created this fun layout using our Ink Splash stamp. I really love the mixed media elements!

Thank you so much, Ashli, for joining us this month! You have been inspiring!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

September Designer: Ashli Oliver

Wahoo for it being Friday! We made it!

Just wanted to let you know that Neat and Tangled has joined Periscope! You can find us @neatandtangled  I'm going to try to hop on there today around 12pm EST so be sure you're following us so you can say hi!

And I am so excited to have two layouts from our September designer, Ashli Oliver, to share with you today! I love her light mixed media approach to creating!

For her first layout she used our Giving Tree stamp set and Ocean Breeze sequins.  This set is a great match to Ashli's whimsical style! And those little owls are my favorite :)

For her second layout she used our Ink Splash stamp which works perfectly as water splashes to pair with her photos :)

Thank you so much, Ashli, for getting our weekend off to a great start!

Caution: Halloween!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! It's Taheerah here with a card to kick off your weekend!

With it being Halloween today I thought I'd share a fun Halloween card that combines a few Neat & Tangled stamps!

I wanted to create something that was a little bit different, so I came up with this:

I love how this card turned out!!

I wanted to create a card that had a little more of a gore look, so I decided to use the Ink Splash stamps as blood splatter!

I then decided to create a bit of a crime scene, and every crime scene needs caution tape! I created mine by repeatedly stamping the sentiment from Creepy Cute, then masking it and overstamping the airmail strip from On The Strip. I added a few strips across my card and that resulted in my finished design!

I hope this card brought some Halloween fun to your day! Thanks for stopping by!

July Guest Designer: Jenn Shurkus!

Happy Friday friends!

I'm here today with our last post from July guest designer, Jenn Shurkus! It has been such a blast having her for the month! Thank you so much, Jenn!

Hey Everyone, It's Jenn -  This is my last week guest designing for Neat and Tangled- and I have to say I’m sad :( I loved sharing my ideas with you.

Hopefully our paths will cross again and until then be sure to keep up on all my creative posts at shurkus.com

For this card I really couldn’t wait to play with Neat and Tangled’s “Ink Splash” stamp set! To get it to look realistic I used gelatos directly on the stamp, you can even lay down multiple colors as you can see I did here

Once you have the stamp covered very well with the gelatos, I misted it with just a little bit of water, and then stamped it on Distress Watercolor paper. You could spritz it again and stamp a second time for a lighter version, but I wanted all of my ink splashes to be bold and vibrant. So I covered the stamp in gelato again, spritzed and stamped. I did this 3 times and then using the smaller ink splash I filled in the white spaces a bit.

I then stamped the “Dreams” sentiment stamp in versa fine black, once directly on the card, and once on some scrap watercolor paper I had. Using a black glaze pen I gently traced the word “dreams”, let that dry and then went over it again. I like how this really made the word pop off the card.

On the second sentiment that I stamped I just colored in the banner “do come true” with bubblegum gelato, fussy cut it out and popped it up off the card.

I adhered the card front to a red notecard, and then added some sequins with glossy accents from the “Pixie Dust Sequin Mix”

This is such a fun and easy card, and you could recreate it in all different color schemes!

Well, that is it. I can’t believe July is almost over! Thank you so much to Danielle for inviting me to  guest design for Neat and Tangled, it was truly an honor!

April Guest Designer: Teri Anderson!

Happy Friday friends! Today I am here with our last post from April guest designer, Teri Anderson! It has been such a joy to have her join us this month! Her projects always put a smile on my face.

And now onto her project! She used Ink Splash and Sparkle and Shine for her card today. Both sets are currently sold out, but will be restocked next Wednesday! She also threw on a few of our Birthday Bash sequins :)

To get the cool effect with the ink splashes she inked them with regular dye ink and then spritzed with water before stamping. It gave them a really cool artsy look!

Thank you so much Teri for joining us this month!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Holiday Cards Using Non-Holiday Stamps

Hello everyone! Nina here with two quick and easy holiday cards using non-holiday stamps from Neat and Tangled.

First one up, a Halloween card using Ink Splash.

I used halloween colors to quickly create the background. I heat embossed the sentiment from Halloween Scene on black cardstock, cut to size and adhered with foam adhesive.

Second,  a Christmas card using Sunburst.

This is a great set to create a scene with a warm feeling. It also helps emphasize the focal. Home and sentiment stamps from Simple Christmas.

I collect basic, background building pattern stamps and think these two from Neat and Tangled are must-haves. I hope that you are inspired to use more of your pattern stamps on your holiday cards this year?

Thank you for stopping by! Happy Crafting!

Ink Splash Birthday Card - Heather

Good morning! Heather here again to share another fun card to help celebrate Neat and Tangled's 1st birthday!

I had a lot of fun on this card (which means I made quite a mess! Heehee!) I used Ink Splash to stamp with Versamark ink, then embossed with clear ink - LOVE the tone on tone look it gives! I also inked the edges of the card with some coordinating distress ink. It still looked like it needed a little more something, and this is where a happy accident occurred...I sprayed on some white Mister Huey's mist, and it went on way too thick and heavy! So I blotted it off with some white computer paper. WOW! Not my intention - but LOVED the effect it gave!

I added a strip of cardstock attached with foam adhesive on which I used sentiment from Across the Card embossed in white, and added some Snow White sequins in a row along the thin strip. Finished off with a bit of Strawberry baker's twine from the Twinery. (Hint: when attaching twine diagonally on a card, add a tiny dot of glue on each edge to hold the twine in place at an angle!)

Thanks for stopping by today! If you haven't hopped along with Little Tangles yet - you might want to! Comments are open through next week, and the prize is pretty fabulous! Have a great day!!!

Ink Splash!

It's an Ink Splash day here at Neat & Tangled!!!  Have you seen the latest stamp set from Neat & Tangled?  I'm loving these ink splash stamps!

Today, I've paired them up with my new Gelatos that I picked up while at Michael's.  I have been watching the videos that Kimberly Crawford posted with them and had to give them a try with the Ink Splash stamps!  Check out all her videos HERE.  Thanks Kimberly!

For my card, I used Kimberly's Day 2 ideas with stamping with Gelatos.  Basically, what I did here was color on a craft mat and spritzed the color with water and inked up my stamp!  Love the watercolor look!  My sentiment is from the Across the Card stamp set.  Thanks for joining me!!
