Magnolia | 90 seconds video idea with Bibi

Hi there, is Bibi here and today  I'm sharing a 90 seconds video with super quick and easy project using the new Magnolia stamp set and die set by Neat and Tangled and I also used "Together" Stamp set and die set.

I sprinkled  Brusho Crystal Watercolours powders on wet watercolour paper for the backgrounds.  I used Turquoise +Ultramarine  and  Scarlet + Yellow.

I have found that to achieve better results using Brusho Crystal Watercolours it is better to place the spray bottle at least 30 cm away from the paper and avoid water excess to get a lovely granulation effect.  I had to put the bottle near the paper on the video just to show you that in fact, I was using water but that not ideal as I had to repeat the process.  I didn't want a flat wash of colour there, I wanted the texture produced by the pigments.  Arg! when you are making a video not everything is straightforward.

I'm also sharing the most ridiculously easy way to add a hint of colour to images and I embellished with a few sequins.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Introducing our November Guest Designer Sheree Forcier

Happy Friday!  We're so excited to introduce you to this month's guest designer, Sheree Forcier.  Sheree has a wonderful crisp and intentional style, and you guys will love how she embraces white space.  We're just thrilled to have her!  Here's Sheree to tell you a little more about herself and her project for this week:

Hello crafty friends! I’m so thrilled to be guest designing with Neat & Tangled this month! Before I share my first project with you I thought I’d tell you a little about myself. I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia with my husband and three children. I’ve been scrapbooking for around 15 years or so but I also love to create in traveler’s notebooks, pocket page scrapping and cardmaking too. I’ve dabbled in a few other crafts over the years and I crochet almost every day however I think papercrafting will always be my fave!

Today I have a layout to share with you. I love that stamps and dies are not only perfect for cardmaking but scrapbooking too!

The ‘Together’ stamp set and ‘Heart of Gold’ die suited the theme of this page beautifully. I cut the heart out using my Big Shot and plain white cardstock, covered it with Versamark ink then used some Ranger Gold Tinsel embossing power to create a gorgeous shimmery embellishment to use as the feature for the embellishment cluster above my photos.

I used the same embossing powder and Versamark ink to create the ‘Together’ title and used my scissors to fussy cut the word so I could pop it off the page with some foam adhesive.

Once I had my gold glittery pieces ready to use I went ahead and put my layout together. I used black ink to create some ink splatters on my background, some Kaisercraft and Crate Paper scraps across the bottom of the page, then picked out some pretty Crate Paper die cuts and stickers from my stash to create the embellishment cluster around the heart at the top of the page. The little clear butterfly is a really old Heidi Swapp piece that I’ve had for years but still love!

I then chose two more stamps from the Together stamp set to add to the page. I stamped ‘you & me’ under the title, then ‘so happy’ to the right of the gold heart in black ink. The journaling strips and the date stamp were the final touches to finish the layout.

I’ve also filmed a video if you would like to watch my process…

I hope I’ve inspired you to get creative with dies and embossing powder to create your own fun embellishments! Thank you for joining me today and I’ll be back again soon with another project to share.

Easy Mirror Image and Reverse Die Cutting with Bibi

Hello from Scotland, It's Bibi here and today I'm sharing a video-post with a love/ friendship themed card idea using supplies from the Neat and Tangled October 2017 Release.

what is super cool about this card is that  I applied a very easy mirror image technique using the Backdrop Stamp and Get Yeti stamp set.

I  also used the large sentiment from Hello Winter Stamp Set and one of thesmall sentiments from Together Stamp Set to complete this card message.

In the video below you can see the whole process of creating this card and also  how to cut the mirrored images using coordinating dies.

Together with Wilna Furstenberg

Happy Friday!  Our guest designer for this month, Wilna Furstenberg, is back sharing another beautiful layout with us this week.  We are just loving the lightness and texture of her work and we think you will too.  Here she is with all the details:

Hi there! Wilna here for the second layout I created for Neat and Tangled!

I used the “Together” stamps and I stamped the title on a transparency and fuzzy cut it out.

I also stamped some phrases on plain paper and made little “ribbons” out of it. I love word stamps again for the text and texture.

Watch the little video where I show you the quick technique to make a background to your page. The flower illustration is from a little Art Journaling Class I have available on iheartstudio.ca called Art Journal Series 1.

Thanks for watching!

And a big thanks to Wilna for being our guest this month.  To see more from Wilna, be sure to follow her on her social media channels here:

True Friends

Hey everyone!  I am just back from vacation, our family went out west to South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming, a totally different part of the country.  We saw the Ingalls Homestead, Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, the Black Hills, Little Big Horn, Devil's Tower, caves, rocks, prairie, trees, lots of climbing and hiking.  It was a great time, and I'm still in an outdoorsy soft of mood which spilled over into today's card.

I pulled out my Calathea set for today's card, I created a similar card a while back for the A Blog Named Hero Anniversary hop, with softer more nontraditional colors, but today I went with the greens.  Just random stamping, trying to balance things, using a mix of first and second generation stamping.

One little trick, when using inks that are good for solid stamps because they will kind of soften and blend a bit (think Altenew or Hero Arts), I will run my heat gun over my panel after each layer of stamping.  I feel like this gives you a crisper image so that the layers don't bleed into one another.

I wanted a softer, more earthy and warmer look to the card, so I used a cream rather than white panel.

Once my stamping was done, I used the recently released Together stamp and my MISTI for the sentiment.  I love a good one layer card and the Calathea set is perfect for this.

A cream mat and kraft based finished this off.  Hope you are having a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!
