Top 11 of 2011

I've seen a few people do a post of their top 11 favorite projects and thought it would be fun to look back upon the last year.  To be honest 2011 started out rough, but I couldn't be happier with how it is ending. This blog has grown so much, and so have I. More importantly, I have made some really wonderful new friendships. I look forward to 2012 and all it holds.

Here are my favorite 11 projects from 2011, hope you enjoy! Oh, and they are in no particular order :o)

You know I had to put the baby in there :o)

Happy New Year's!

New Stamps + Christmas Placecard

First of all, if you're a Lawn Fawn fan like me I feel it is my duty to tell you that their newest set, Love n' Breakfast is in over at Simon Says Stamp so be sure to scoop it up before it's out of stock!
Second, here is a quick little project I worked on this weekend.  I was thinking of new ways to use my Damask Snowflake die, and here's one of the things I came up with.

I took a PTI coaster and covered it with some patterned paper. I then die cut the snowflake, scored it, and folded so it would stand up.  Next I outlined it with some Stickles.  For the name tag I just cut a little banner, stamped the name, and added some stickles and twine to finish it off. You could probably just use cardstock, but I wanted it to be a little more sturdy so I used the coaster (which is like chipboard).

Hope you're having a great week! Can't believe it's Wednesday already.

December Daily Cover

Hey All!

Just popping in quickly to share the cover for my December Daily.  If you're unfamiliar with what this is go to Ali Edwards site to check it out.  In a nutshell- it's a photo album/scrapbook/journal/catch-all for the month of December. This is perfect for me because I am a Christmas nut. By far my favorite time of the year, especially now with the kiddos.

Many people choose to do a small album, maybe 4x6 or 8x8. I opted to go with something larger, 8.5x11, only because I know I will have tons of pictures, stories, keepsakes from the month. I can't remember where I got the album (Two Peas or Amazon?), but it's by American Crafts. It has a chipboard cover which is nice because it can be altered. I picked red for obvious reasons, but it did come in a variety of colors.

To be honest I don't know how I came up with the idea for the cover. I was in the midst of a Christmas card making frenzy and had some left over felt snowflakes and twine.  Then a day or two later I got my number dies in the mail and thought it would be fun to use them.  I stamped some white cardstock with the Hero Arts Flower Dot stamp, cut the numbers, and then adhered them.  I added some buttons and twine to the snowflake, stamped the word December, and the rest is history.

I will be working like a mad woman to get (most) of my pages done this weekend, since the whole premise is to have the album prepared ahead of time so you have little work to do when December rolls around.

If you are doing a December Daily and have pictures send me a link so I can check it out! I'm always looking for inspiration.
