Love You Past The Stars with Mindy Eggen

Welcome back everyone! It's Mindy Eggen with you today. I have found the easiest way ever to create a galaxy background!

I am starting with a piece of Stonehenge Aqua Coldpress card stock. I have it cut to 4 1/2" x 5 3/4", leaving that little bit of extra room to tape it down to a board. Then I will sprinkle of Storm Cloud and Meteorite Shimmer Powders, spritz heavily with water and then walk away.

I have played with shimmer powders before but I've never actually just let them sit. I've always tried to tip my board and move the water around, which is great, but by walking away and letting this dry on its own creates amazing results!

Once the panel was completely dry, I put it in a folded piece of copy paper and ran through my Spellbinders Platinum 6 die cutting machine. This will help smooth the card stock down so it's not so warped from the water.

Next, I'm going to flick on White and Gold Paint with a paint brush using the Metallic Watercolors set from Altenew. After that is completely dry, I trim the card stock down to 4" x 5 1/4" and ink blend around the edges with Navy ink from Hero Arts.

After the paint and ink are completely dry, I will run through my die cut machine again to make sure it's nice and flat and attach this panel to a piece of Nautical card stock.

I die cut the Love You from Tonic Sugar Cube card stock and attached to my galaxy card front. I masked off part of the sentiment from the To The Stars stamp set, inked up with embossing ink and heat embossed in Sterling Embossing Powder. Then trimmed down to a thin strip and attached to the front with foam tape.

I finished off the card by adding some Clear Crystal Sequins, attaching with liquid glue and topping off with Cloud 9 Dream Drops.

This was the easiest galaxy background I have ever created and I really didn't have to do anything!
