Fairies Find A Friend: Scene Card with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters! 

I hope you've been having an amazing weekend. Even though we're all back to school here and when I drove to work this morning it was 64 degrees I'm still trying to cling to summer. 

Thankfully cards help with that ha! 

I had fully intended to use these charming little fairies with the unicorn on my card when I started. However, I had zero plan to do a scene card. The background I originally conjured up in my mind didn't exactly pan out so I adapted. Honestly, this one is way better! 

I stamped out all my fairies in copic safe ink and got to work coloring with my Copic markers. My original game plan had a pink purple and blue sky so I stuck to those when coloring up my unicorn and fairies. 

The mane of the unicorn was colored with all three shades to create a fun gradient. When selecting colors from different families to blend make sure they are the same intensity. An easy way to do that with copics is to look at the last number on the lid. All my colors end in 4 indicating they are the same intensity. 

I drew my house to create my scene. I did use a ruler for the outline of the outside but I decided to wing it with the door and the window. I mean it's a fairy house, they probably didn't use levels, besides it's charming. I added some copic coloring and distress oxide ink blending to finish off the scene.
