Happy Monday everyone! This week we're sharing projects using both Neat & Tangled and We R Memory Keepers DIY Party products. You're going to love what the team has to share. These products are so versatile and while they are obviously perfect for party planning and throwing, they pair so well with our products too.
Today Danielle is here to share:
Hello friends! I was so excited to get my hands on some of the new DIY Party Products! I picked out the Small Honeycomb Pads to work with. My daughter's second birthday is just around the corner and I really want to create some fun decorations, some pompoms to hang and add to party favor bags. But I also wanted to use it to make a card.
I knew I wanted to make a card with stars. So, I thought I would use a die to cut the star shape, but alas the honeycomb paper was too thick for my die cutting machine. So instead I just taped my die to the paper and cut it with my trusty old scissors. You only need half of the star, since the honeycomb paper will fold open. For the smaller stars I used our Scored Shapes dies to cut them from vellum.
For the background I did some ink blending with my Distress Inks in Abandoned Coral, Rusty Hinge, and Wild Honey. I glued the vellum stars to the background, and splattered some white Copic ink around. To finish I glued on the honeycomb star.
So, obviously this card isn't going to fit in an envelope, but I'm giving it to my 2 year old so it doesn't need one haha. But if you did make a similar card, this would work BEAUTIFULLY with one of these card hanger dies. You can use the die to display the card on the front of a gift bag!
I hope you enjoyed my project, and be sure to stop by everyday this week for more!
