I recently had to pull together a masculine birthday card, and I couldn't think of anything more perfect than to use A Long Time Ago - one of my most favourite sets! Creating a galaxy themed background is fun and can give spectacular results, allowing the design to really shine with only a simple sentiment!
Here's what I came up with:
I love how this turned out!
I used some white cardstock and a variety of Distress Paints and some Black Soot Distress Ink to create that background - isn't is stellar?! I heat embossed my sentiments with black embossing powder for a little bit of pop but in an understated (and Dark Side) way! *wink*
You may not be able to spot it, but I added a few stars from some of the embellishment mixes too!
I hope this card brought some fun to your day! Thanks for stopping by!
Fabulous card! Love your background!
ReplyDeleteSwooning over your background, Taheera!
ReplyDeleteTaheerah this is awesome! So fun... I'd forgotten how great that sentiment is!

My nephew is a Star Wars fan so he would love this! Is there a video for this or can you explain how you did this more? I don't have any Distress Paints but maybe there is a way I can make it work with what I have. His birthday isn't until New Years so I have time to learn what you did.
ReplyDeleteHi Gail, thanks so much for your comment! I can certainly work on a video to show you how I did it - stay tuned!

ReplyDeleteAwesome galaxy! I would love to see the video!!
ReplyDeleteI totally just went and bought this and the time warp stamp (and some other stuff because I couldn't stop!). A video would be great. I'm so happy N&T is carrying Lucys shaker mixes too :)
ReplyDeleteThat universe looks amazing! Love this!!!!
