Getting Started Guide Week 5: Ink

It's Friday so you know what that means...a video!

This week it's all about inks and I have 2 videos for you. The first one covers all the types of ink. The second video is VERY mini tutorial dedicated to Distress Inks.

Here is the card, videos are below them, and all supplies are at the very end as thumbnails. I'm entering this into the current Lawnscaping Challenge which is Distress Mania.

*In the video I mention that Versafine Onyx Black is a dye ink, but I lied. It's an oil-based pigment ink!*

  1. Thanks for the guide on inks! And great video on using distress. I love working with distress inks too and I'm always fascinated with the results I see.

I also LOVE the Hero Arts Shadow Inks... Definitely looking at getting more colors. Bubblegum is my fav color at this moment.

  2. I completely agree with you about the Memento ink! I use it when I'm going to color with copics, but I think it's blotchy when I use it with most stamps. I've never stamped with water onto the distress inked paper like that before... very neat!!

  3. I like how you've labeled the distress inks... I store them upside down too. I have written the names on the sides with a silver marker, but labels with the actual ink on it is a much better idea.

  4. Dude shut up! I have absolutely zero experience with this kind of thing, but I watched this whole video rapt. I swear to you my jaw dropped literally when you took that heat gun (!) and the pattern magically appeared.

  5. Thank your for your great video on inks, I cannot thank you enough for your comments about the Memento ink. For the longest time I could not understand how come everybody was raving about the ink and for me was a bit blotchy, of course I blame it on my lack of experience. What a relief to know I can use the Versafine.
    Thanks

  6. I wanted to take a moment to compliment and thank you. I've followed your blog for a little while and love it and your style. I've enjoyed your videos...and today's card is wonderful. I love how you used a distress technique but still kept a clean look. I appreciate the time you put into your creations, this blog and the videos...especially with two little ones! I don't know how you do it, but I'm glad you do!

  9. I'm not even sure where to start. I can't even remember how I got to your blog tonight, but I've just spent a ton of time reading practically every single post - and enjoying myself! I have to go back tomorrow and catch up on baby two and all the rest. But mostly I want to thank you for these videos. I've been stamping for about 12 years and I took two pages of notes of tips and tools and techniques!! That should make you feel really great! It's a lot of work for you and I just want to thank you. I'm following, too, so I can keep up with what videos you do in the future and your CAS card ideas.
