Neat & Tangled / Hemptique Collaboration, Week 2

It's Week 2 of our collaboration with Hemptique this month!  While you are probably familiar with their very popular twine, they also have a number of other products that we'll be featuring this month including hemp paper and bookmarks.

Each Tuesday this month design team members will showcase projects that combine Neat & Tangled and Hemptique products.  Be sure to leave comments on these posts as we'll pick a lucky commenter to win a Hemptique prize pack at the end of the month.

Today it's Daria's turn:

For today's post, I have decided to play with Hemptique paper. Love its texture and softness - very unique. So I took our Seeing Stars die and try to make a sky for wishing many dreams over lots of stars :) Thanks to the Hemptique hand-made paper, stars turned fluffy and dimensional.

The sentiment from Dreams stamp became a perfect addition to the idea of this card.  That is my life motto; I do believe that all the dreams always do come true :)

Dreams

Aga is back today with another beautifully stamped card.

Hello everyone! I’m back with another one layer card to share with you today. I love creating my own stamped backgrounds with small stamps, so when I saw Send Pretty Mail set, I immediately fell in love with it. 


For today's card, I wanted to create some whimsical floral background. I first stamped Dreams sentiment stamp and combined it with these pretty flowers that I coloured with watercolours. I love how all of the stamps go so well together.

Rainbow coloured dreams!

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card today - I used some images from the Gifts for You stamp set to create a row of rainbow balloons ;-)

This (almost) one layer card is so quick and easy to create, you could batch produce a few for your stash! The best bit?! You can change up the sentiment to suit your needs ;-)

I stamped the balloons in a range of Distress Inks onto a white card base, adjusting the angle and position of each impression to give them a more random appearance. Then I stamped the tiny hearts from the same set, upside down, to create the knotted parts of the balloons - this made it easier to give the drawn, wiggly lines something to hold on to ;-)

I stamped the Dreams sentiment in black ink and went over it with some clear Wink of Stella. At this point, I thought the card was missing something, so filled some of the dots on the balloons with Diamond Stickles.

I also added a few coloured sequins to finish up (Crystal Clear, Lemon Satin, Shamrock Satin, and Pink Lemonade).

Dreams do come True

Hello, everyone! Anna is here today with you and i want to share my new card. Recently, I took the idea of imitation wood in cards, I still had no such experience. So it was time to use On the strip 2 set, in which there is a strip of wood texture.

I did shtamping by gray inks on gray cardstock and cut out few "boards". Then I connected them on the back of the piece of washi tape and made ​​embossing with white powder with a phrase from the Dreams set. Also cut out a hole in the shape of tiny heart.

Then I gathered the "fence" from the "boards", so it looks like a phrase on the fence. Even brads in the form of screws found their places. Added grass and blue sky.

And than added accents of sequins from Pixie Dust set.

July Guest Designer: Jenn Shurkus!

I'm here today with our last post from July guest designer, Jenn Shurkus! It has been such a blast having her for the month! Thank you so much, Jenn!

Hey Everyone, It's Jenn -  This is my last week guest designing for Neat and Tangled- and I have to say I’m sad :( I loved sharing my ideas with you.

For this card I really couldn’t wait to play with Neat and Tangled’s “Ink Splash” stamp set! To get it to look realistic I used gelatos directly on the stamp, you can even lay down multiple colors as you can see I did here

Once you have the stamp covered very well with the gelatos, I misted it with just a little bit of water, and then stamped it on Distress Watercolor paper. You could spritz it again and stamp a second time for a lighter version, but I wanted all of my ink splashes to be bold and vibrant. So I covered the stamp in gelato again, spritzed and stamped. I did this 3 times and then using the smaller ink splash I filled in the white spaces a bit.

I then stamped the “Dreams” sentiment stamp in versa fine black, once directly on the card, and once on some scrap watercolor paper I had. Using a black glaze pen I gently traced the word “dreams”, let that dry and then went over it again. I like how this really made the word pop off the card.

On the second sentiment that I stamped I just colored in the banner “do come true” with bubblegum gelato, fussy cut it out and popped it up off the card.

I adhered the card front to a red notecard, and then added some sequins with glossy accents from the “Pixie Dust Sequin Mix”

This is such a fun and easy card, and you could recreate it in all different color schemes!

Chalkboard Party Toppers

Hello, friends! Today Anna's here and my project for today is toppers with chalkboard effect. Chalkboard technique is still in trend, and I think, even in summer days is perfect for decorating party. Neat & Tangled has at its disposal a huge amount of awesome stamps, which are suitable for this technique. And for this project I used them all! :)

First I cut few figures of the black cardstock using 'A Lot To Say' Die. I am delighted with this new die! It can be used together with a stamp, and without it. I chose the second option. And than I just added a heat embossing on them all with N&T stamps and added the chalkboards effect with white ink pad.

Using small circles paper I glued sticks for barbecue on the back side of my toppers. Stylish decoration for a party is ready!

And a little bit about what stamps I used (full list can be found at the end of the post). Some stamps like 'Dreams' are in itself perfect for chalkboard technique. Other stamps (e.g., set 'Sparkle and Shine') I combined with the flowers of  'So Very Blessed', to achieve the desired visual effect. Thus playing with stamps this way, you can create a lot of interesting combinations!

Calligraphic Card Set

Hey everyone, Mayuri here to share a card set I whipped up using some of the awesome scripty style stamps from Neat & Tangled.

I began by stamping a very simple plaid pattern on four separate kraft card bases using Distress Inks.

I then stamped four different Neat & Tangled scripty style stamps (My Favorite, Hope Anchors, So Very Blessed, Dreams) onto each card base with Colorbox Frost White pigment ink - I used a stamp positioner and actually stamped each sentiment three times to make the white really stand out!

I did find though, that as the day went by, the pigment ink seemed to get absorbed into the card base and let the Distress Inks seep through.

I added matching Neat & Tangled sequins to each card to finish up this quick and easy calligraphic card set!

There are actually quite a few other scripty style sentiments in the Neat & Tangled store that can be used to create really quick card sets - all you have to do is change the background up and away you go!

mini card challenge!

Hey all, it's Amy T here!  I'm super excited to be officially on the Neat & Tangled team!

I thought it would be fun to play along with the little tangles challenge:

This trio of cards all have a base of 4.25 x 4.25 inches.

I love the combo of color and patterns.  A great way to combine them is to use heat embossing.  Ordinarily with a navy background, using white or black heat embossing would not make the impact that this Paper Source Picante Embossing Powder does!

I've always been a fan of Danielle's swirly sentiments:

Dreaming in glitter

Hi!!! It's Suzanne here with a fun card that I made using a variety of glitter ribbon and Dreams - I chose some fun colors and glued them onto some cardstock before cutting the top edge with a die. I then stamped the sentiment in Versafine and added the panel of stripes to the front.

The effect of the glitter in real life is SO fun!

Dreams Do Come True - Masked Sentiment

As part of this month's birthday bash, I created a card combining the the new Dreams stamp (free with all orders place in August), with one of the birds from the My Heart Sings set and the Sunburst stamp. 

To begin, I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink. I then stamped the sentiment on masking paper, which I cut out and placed over the sentiment. I stamped the Sunburst over the masked sentiment using a pigment ink. 

The bird was stamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I colored the bird with a combination of Festive Berries and Picked Raspberry Distress Inks. The beak is colored with Hero Arts Butter Bar. The cloud background paper was created with a Hero Arts digital stamp.

Dreams! - Reverse Masking Technique

Hello everyone! Nina here to share a card using the brand new stamp set: Dreams! It is a special stamp set which is free with any order placed during our Neat and Tangled birth month :)

I used a technique I call Reverse Masking to create the orange background for the sentiment.

I use reverse stamping technique a lot but when the stamp design is not symmetrical, it will not work. How about using the reverse side to create a mask for it? I experimented and liked the result. Here is how I did it:

I inked the stamp on its reverse side, stamped and cut out. I used both pieces on my card.

I used the cut-out piece (stamped side facing down) to mask and create the pink area.

And the negative part to mask and ink the orange area. As the arrow shown: I used a piece of Scotch tape (hard to see but it is there) to help keep the mask together at where I cut in.

I left the mask in place when stamping the sentiment to help me align it to the center.

I stamped the sentiment again on some yellow paper and cut out the banner part to add interest to the sentiment. I also used a white gel pen to draw some lines for some depth for the pink background.

I had a lot of fun playing with this sentiment. I look forward to our September release with more awesome calligraphy stamps by Danielle! See you then! Happy Stamping!
