Fractal clouds and Cotton Candy Skies with Cheiron

Hi there crafty friends. It's Cheiron here and today I have a card featuring another throwback Neat and Tangled set (that is on sale now!) the Fractal Cloud stamp set. I thought it would be fun to pair it with a colorful sparkly sky and I was inspired by the images of "cotton candy skies" on Pinterest. This card takes a little extra time to make because of the ink blending and masking, but believe me the end result of crisp white clouds is so worth it.

To begin, I stamped the Fractal Clouds in Versamark ink and embossed them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I also stamped them onto masking paper and cut them out and masked the embossed clouds.

Once the masks were on, I began the ink blending, starting lightly and then building up my layers until I had the "sky" that I wanted. I used Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet.

When the panel was inked how I liked it, I sprayed the entire panel with a generous spraying of Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle and dried it with a heat tool. Once it was dry, I stamped the sentiment with Black Soot Archival Distress Ink. I love the look of the sparkly sky on this card and hope it will put a smile on the face of whoever receives it!

Fall Floral Frame with Cheiron

Hi there crafty friends! It's Cheiron here and today I have a simple card for you using the Floral Frame stamps and dies in a palette perfect for fall. To create my card today, I did some ink blending on the background using a Blender Brush and Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxides. Then I added some splatter in the same colors, plus white gouache and gold (from my Tonic Midas Touch pen).

Once my background panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the Magnolia stamp set, which I think is just perfect to go with the fall theme. I colored the Floral Frame stamps in with some fall colors of Copics and added some gold Sophisticated Enamel Dots to give the card a finished look. I love how easy it is to change the entire look of this stamp by simply choosing a different color palette!

Hello Summer Gradient Watercolor

Hi there crafty friends! It's Cheiron here and I am happy to share this fun card with you today to celebrate the first day of summer tomorrow. I don't know about you, but summer is my favorite season, I love everything about it. The warmth, the ocean, the barbecues and especially the sunsets.

Today, I have created a super easy summer card using the Hello Summer stamp set. To create this card, I used a panel of watercolor paper and one of my big watercolor wash brushes. I went over the entire panel with water, then added in vibrant liquid watercolors to the panel in a gradient and brushed each color into the next. I love the warm, earthy look here.

To complete the card, I stamped the words from the Hello Summer set onto my completely dry panel using a stamp positioner, and stamped the word summer with Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide. I also colored in the sun and the ice cream cone with some Distress Oxides that I smushed onto my craft sheet and picked up with a water brush.

Retirement sale + Distress Oxide Complimentary Summer Colors with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters! 

I hope you guys are having a great week.

I'm popping in today with a few cards and some exciting news!

There are SO many awesome products in the sale section.

Among the fabulous products are the ones I used today. 

Heading into summer I really wanted to create a few brightly colored cards to go with the summer vibe. With the weather we've been having it's super hard to get the summer feeling. 

I started by picking out a few complimentary colors of distress oxides. I knew I wanted to do a gradient so the next step was to look for a third color that would allow me to blend my too complimentary colors together. This is a full proof way to pick a color combo because complimentary colors always look amazing together. 

After I did a bit of ink blending I wanted to add a bit more fun and interest to the background so I splattered on some clean water first to break up the ink blending. To make it a bit more splashy I did the same thing with the distress oxide colors and perfect pearls. The last step was to stamp the background with the background stamp included in the Hello Summer set. 

With the backgrounds done I set them aside to get coloring. I stamped out my images along with an accessory and colored them with my copic markers. I chose colors that were again complimentary to reinforce the theme of each card. After coloring them up I die cut them out with the corrdinating dies. 

The sentiment was a ton of fun and added some extra sparkle to the cards. I'm always all about the extra sparkle. You can see how shiny they are close up here.

I really love the way all three of them came out. They feel so fun and summery. 

Now if I could just get the weather to break!
