Watercoloring and Embossing an Image with Colored Embossing Powder

Hello everyone. Koren here with a simple encouragement card using a combination of different Neat & Tangled products.  An encouragement card is always fun to send, and can be used anytime throughout the year.

For this card, I started with the Neat & Tangled Grateful Heart stamp set and a piece of Stampin’ Up! Fresh Fig cardstock cut to 3 1/2” by 4 3/4”. I loaded it into my MISTI with part of the images coming off of the panel. I stamped the images with Nuvo Clear Mark embossing ink to create a tone on tone effect.

I stamped the Luna Moth image from the Neat & Tangled Moon Magic stamp set onto Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper. I stamped it in Nuvo Clear Mark embossing ink just as I had done with the background, only this time, I heat embossed my image with Nuvo Crushed Mulberry embossing powder and colored it with my Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils.  I typically like to blend out the watercolor pencils with a Tombow blender pen instead of a brush and water.

I used the coordinating die from the Neat & Tangled Moon Magic die set to cut it out.  Craft Perfect foam squares were used to pop up the Luna Moth onto my tone on tone background.

As for the sentiment, I used the “dream big” from Neat & Tangled’s So Many Sentiments, and stamped it onto a piece of Simon Says Stamp Fog cardstock with the same embossing ink and embossing powder from earlier. I cut it down into a strip using my Fiskars paper trimmer with the wire guide.  I popped up the tiny strip using the same foam squares onto the bottom right of my card.

The entire panel was then added to a Fog card base cut to size A2 and scored in a top folding orientation. I adhered them together using a piece of craft foam and tear tape adhesive to give the card added dimension.

I hope I’ve inspired you to create your own card today using some of these products or something similar. Thank you so much for spending some of your time with me today.

Koren
