Barnyard Scene Card, Inside & Out with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters! 

Do you guys make cards for the men in your life? 

I usually don't honestly. It's too much pressure for something I'm not super comfortable doing. 

BUT...I had to use the sentiment from G.O.A.T. It was too perfect for my father. 

Since I struggle with more masculine cards I decided a scene card would get the job done and I like making those. Some masking allowed me to utilize the Layered Landscapes days so my goat could be a mountain goat haha. 

I hand drew some simple hills and then trimmed them out to create the background. When building a scene perspective is important to keep in mind so that your scene makes sense. The barn would be huge if my little farmer were standing next to it as would the tractor. Since the stamps in this set are sized a little bit smaller I can still get the look I want by placing them further in the background. If they are farther way they appear smaller to the eye. 

 Because the Layered Landscapes set is so generously sized it was super simple to stamp it in a few colors to create a dimensional skyline. Using ink blending in the background is another great way to cover lots of area while using just a little product. I used 5 colors to make the hills and then the dirt trail they're standing on. 

Once all the stamping and ink blending was done I removed all my masks and started in with the copic markers. Matching your markers to your background is a quick and easy way to fix any areas where your masks weren't perfectly aligned.
