To Have A Friend Like You

How wonderful it is to have a friend like you! Yes you! And you, and you too! I honestly consider all of you to be my crafty friends, and you know what? Crafty friends are best kind of friends!

We support each other in our crafty addictions, we travel for miles go to crops and classes together, we chat for many many hours about the most silly things like colors of sequins or number of cards we've made. But the most important part is, we understand each other and appreciate one another even thought we seldom meet in real life.

Here's a simple grey + gold card to celebrate our friendship!

I used my current favorite sets (I know I say this every time, but they truly are my favs!) - Scandinavian Flowers and Dala Horse. If you know me, you know I love to create backgrounds of all sorts and this is exactly what I did for this card.

I started by stamping a sentiment in the center of a dark grey panel of cardstock, next by using it as a guide I added branches from Scandinavian Flowers set. I stamped them repeatedly rotating each every time I made an impression.

Instead of using flowers that were designed to go with the branches I used little blooms from the Dala Horse set. I stamped several at the ends of the branches and also in between and so filled the blanks.

I used ClearSnap embossing ink for my stamping and therefore was able to add gold embossing powder than heat set this gorgeous piece. To give it a bit of shine I used my Wink Of Stella glitter pen and added glittery highlights to the flowers and leaves. Finally I added a touch of glossy accents to the large elements on this project.

I could have kept this a one layer card, but because my cardstock warped a bit from all the heat I mounted it onto a panel of sturdy cardstock, used foam adhesive and adhered onto a light grey card base. Simple and fun!
