Watercoloring on Bristol Paper with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters! 

Merry Christmas eve! 

I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas! 

Are you all done or is one last trip to the store needed? 

I'll definitely be running out. Whenever I think I'm done there's always that one thing I forgot... 

I was inspired to get out the Holiday Baking set because my little peanut and I will be making cookies for Santa tonight. A little last minute? 

Maybe, but honestly if we made them earlier Santa wouldn't get any cookies! 

I wanted to try watercoloring on Bristol paper. This came about for two reasons. I bought a whole pad back when I wanted to try them with Zig Clean Color Markers and I ran out of watercolor paper. 

Maybe Santa will bring me some?

If you're a wet on wet watercolorist then I think it'll work fine. 

If you're a wet on dry watercolorist stick with the watercolor paper lol

November Guest Designer Nichol Spohr - Holiday Ensemble

Today we're bidding farewell to our November Guest Designer, Nichol Spohr.  Nichol went all out this week with a full up holiday ensemble, we're in love!

Here's Nichol to tell you all about it:

Scene cards are always a favorite of mine. One of my favorite things to do is to mix and match images from multiple stamp sets (and dies) to create truly unique scenes. 

I paired images from the new Santa’s Wonderland with the large deer from Into The Woods, the little bird from Lumberjack Love, and greetings from Happy Holidays (stamps and dies). I built the scene on the largest Scalloped die and popped up the die cut greeting with foam for subtle dimension. 

While I was stamping all the images for my card I went ahead and stamped a second set to create some coordinating gift tags with the Classic Tag 1 die. 

And what card is complete without a matching envelope? 

I stamped this beautiful Christmas red envelope with the Please Deliver stamps and the Into The Woods deer and Santa’s Wonderland North Pole sign before embossing with white embossing powder.

I’ve loved guesting with Neat & Tangled this past month! It’s been an honor to play with stamps and dies that I love so much! Happy crafting friends!

Happy Holidays with Daria

Hi Dears,

Daria here, and I was in the holidays mood while creating a card for today's project. To say the truth, I was having this idea in mind for a while already, and I am really happy that finally made it.

I started by heat embossing houses and trees from Winter Wishes stamps set  on a white panel. I think I used almost all of the images from the set.

Then, I applied distress ink in different manner - ink smushing, with wet brush, and finally, when it was dry with blending tool. Here are the colors I used: Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Tambled Glass. That added some variation and depth in color.

For my sentiment, I used Happy Holidays die and die-cut it from glitter cardstock. I think a little bit of glitter and shine always make it more festive :) I glued everything with a foam tape to add it some dimension.

That's finishes up my card for today. hope you liked it and got a litlle bit into a holiday crafting mood.

Happy Dad's Day

Happy Father's Day! I know that today is hard for some of you. It's also my husband's first Father's Day without his dad. My son was well-aware of this and said with a sad face, "Bucky (his Dad's Minecraft character) doesn't have a Baba anymore." We're making it the best day possible. I'm very lucky to still have my dad and I'm having my parents over tonight to celebrate.

This card for my dad features me (teehee), from the Life is Beautiful stamp set, coloured with Copics and embellished with Wink of Stella. I created a custom sentiment using the Happy Holidays dies and the Journaling Alphas dies. I used the centre of the letter A as an apostrophe and it works perfectly!
