Hosannah - new and old

Hey everyone!  Miriam here today sharing a card using some new and old Neat & Tangled.

I thought that the Sunburst stamp would be a perfect background for a card featuring Easter Journaling

I first inked up the Sunburst stamp several times using my MISTI and several shades of yellow ink.

Then I stamped the sentiment with Memento ink, and colored in the letters with a red Copic marker.  I also added a bit of Wink of Stella over top for some sparkle.

On the card base I stamped a few of the clouds from the aptly named Clouds set in white pigment ink.  It's a subtle way to soften the background.  I added a few mats as well as some clear sequins from the new Crystal Clear mix.  I love that you get small, medium, and large sequins in the mix!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Neat & Tangled / My Sweet Petunia Bonus Post!

Hey everyone!  We've got a special treat today, a bonus card and video to share today from Iliana over at My Sweet Petunia.

I hope you all have been enjoying our week.  Neat and Tangled really pampered me, providing with their wonderful stamp sets.  Due to the weather my package was a little late.  So I just completed this card in hopes of participated at the end.

I created the background using the Clouds stamp set and a lot of masking.  The sentiment from that same set was stamped on the cloud on the Just Thinking of You stamp set.

This card is a great reminder to me that when things are tough that there is always something good hiding in it.  Sometimes, I focus on the dark and not the light.  It is so easy to get wrapped up in the trouble and forget to look around at all the people that lift you up in encouragement.

Neat and Tangled has been a great example of that silver lining.  They did an awesome job this week with their talented design team.  Especially, Miriam Prantner that orchestrated this whole collaboration.  Thank you Neat and Tangled.

Please enjoy this video.

Thanks to Iliana!  It really was our pleasure to team up with My Sweet Petunia, and I think it showed in the projects and videos this week!  Don't forget that you have until the end of the day to leave comments here and at the My Sweet Petunia blog to be in the running for the prizes - $100 to the N&T store and a MISTI!

Neat & Tangled / Freckled Fawn Collaboration Day 2

Welcome back for Day 2 of our hop with Freckled Fawn!

Founded in 2012, Freckled Fawn specializes in designing and manufacturing scrapbook embellishments as well as curating and a monthly Embellishment Kit Club.   Both blogs will be sharing projects and inspiration each day this week.  Be sure to check back each day and leave comments as there are prizes up for grabs.  Freckled Fawn is giving away a June OHDEERME Embellishment Kit on their blog and Neat & Tangled is giving away a $25 credit from one of the comments left this week.

First up today we have May:

I created a geometric one layer card inspired by this book cover. I started by inking the left side of my card front using some blue ink and a blending tool.

Next, I masked off the center and inked area with sticky notes as a mask, and I stamped triangle background image from Tiny Triangles four times with black ink. Then I removed the masks. After stamping the sentiment from Kindness Matters, I colored some of the triangles and tiny heart with Copic markers.

I finished off my card with some Blue Dew Drops to embellish the card. That's all I have today. Hope you like my card and get some inspiration.

Next we have Miriam:

As soon as I saw these Grey & White Glitter Clouds, I knew I was going to make a card with them using our Clouds stamp set.  I wanted to keep the card very soft, so I stamped three of the clouds with Versamark, doing a bit of masking, and then adding Perfect Pearls.

After determining where my cloud would sit, I added just a bit of this thin pink/gold washi where the heart opening was.

At the top of the card I added some of that same pink/gold washi, a bit of a classic white doily and some thin strips of patterned/glittered vellum which were stitched down with some silver thread.

Another thin strip of vellum was added at the bottom of the panel.  The resin cloud was added using Glossy Accents, which I also spread over the washi to give it that glossy look and deepen the color a bit.

I stamped/embossed the sentiment with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and added a few Crystal Clear sequins to finish things off.

I couldn't resist making another card, my first Christmas card of the year.

I saw these Rhinestone Star stickers, and at just $1.00, they were too good a deal to pass up.  I thought they would be perfect with the Time Warp background, which was stamped with Versamark and then dusted with Perfect Pearls.

The sentiment is from Winter Trees, and embossed, and then it was just a matter of adding the stars.  The stars are the perfect size for card making and add some great sparkle!

OK, head on over to the Freckled Fawn Blog to see what their team created and check back each day this week. You won't be disappointed!

Little Tangles DT Feature - Heather Ruwe

Hey everyone, we're starting a new feature on the blog.  Every other month we'll feature one of the members of our Little Tangles Challenge team.  Today we're showcasing Heather Ruwe:

ABOUT ME
Hello. My name is Heather Ruwe and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I've been crafting for as long as I can remember. Even as early as elementary school, I was so excited to create with new school supplies. New markers, crayons, glue, scissors, pens? Yes please! I made my first scrapbook in middle school out of notebook paper, a glue stick, and a three ring binder. Shortly after high school, I got a job at a local scrapbook store. My love of teaching began there and I have taught several card making classes since then. I'm currently the design team leader over on the Little Tangles Challenge Blog. The crafting bug hit me early on and has remained a constant joy in my life.

These days if I'm not in my studio creating, I'm blogging HERE or hanging out with my family. I married to my best friend (Ted) and we have two sons, Alex and Aiden. They are the joys in my life. I've also met some AMAZING people through this hobby and feel so blessed by their friendships.

MY WORK
Here are a few of my cards using my favorite Neat and Tangled Stamp Set, CLOUDS ...

Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

Hi everyone! It's Jocelyn on the blog today.

I made a little card using the Clouds set:

Every Cloud

It's pretty unusual for me to use a rainbow color scheme, but I thought the good ole' Roy G. Biv worked perfectly with the clouds and sentiment.  I also stamped the clouds on some vellum. If you look closely, you can see the letters on the vellum.

Every Cloud

The sentiment is also from the Clouds set. After I stitched through the layers, I added some embellishments, including the White Punchinella. Love that stuff! The white is sold out right now, but when it's restocked, you've got to snatch it up.

Every Cloud

I also added some Crystal Clear and Pink Lemonade sequins and the fun flair. I thought this card would bring some cheer to someone. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Floral Nautical

Hi everyone! It's Jocelyn on the blog today.

When I think of nautical designs, I think of navy and red, Topsiders, ropes, stripes, and Robin Williams as Popeye....not exactly feminine florals. When I made today's card, though, I went for the pink flowers and polka dots:

Smooth Sailing

I started by die-cutting a hole in the center of a Webster's Pages journaling card (you can still see a bit of the lettering on the left). Then, I stamped and paper pieced the boat from the sweet new Sailmates set. Love those polka dots!

I was going to hide the bottom of the boat under the banner, but when I was playing around with the Clouds set, I realized the woodgrain looked a little like ocean swells. I have no idea why I stamped the ocean in yellow--ha ha.

Smooth Sailing

Isn't that sentiment from Sailmates awesome? Danielle's sets always have the most perfect fonts and lettering.

I added Crystal Clear and Pumpkin Satin sequins at the top and stitched through them:

Smooth Sailing

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Everyone, It's Jenn here and I am wicked excited to be guest designing here at Neat and Tangled throughout the month of July.  I was so excited when Danielle emailed and asked me.

I have a lot of favorite stamps from Neat and Tangled, but today I wanted to focus on one of my new faves and that is the  "Clouds" set. I recently dug out my Twinkling H2O's again and have remembered how much I enjoy playing with them.

For this card I stamped and painted in the cloud with "heavenly" H2O, then cut it out. I lightly traced it onto a sheet of Distress Watercolor paper with a pencil. I then removed the cloud and started to paint in my rainbow. I let the colors blend a bit, but I also used my heat tool to heat set it here and there so the colors wouldn't bleed together too much. Once I had my rainbow the way I liked it, I erased my pencil lines and used some foam tape to pop the cloud up off the card.

I stamped the sentiment and attached the layer to a kraft notecard. I didn't want any other colors to distract from how pretty my rainbow turned out. Then using a tiny attacher I adhered some ribbon.

Thank you for joining me today. I do hope you will visit me over at shurkus.com and I look forward to sharing some more inspiration with you throughout the month!

Video: Gradient Stamping with Dye Inks

Hello there,

it's Christine, bringing you another video-tutorial.
I totally fell in love with the new Clouds Stamp Set - it's fun and graphic and can also be used for cute cards. Versatile to the max!

For my card I wanted to use one of those clouds to create a rainbow of clouds. To add some more interest I decided to  stamp in the negative space and tried out to create a gradient with my dye inks. I know this is possible with pigment inks, but most of my inks are dye inks, so I had to give this a try.

This is the card that I created:

I needed some practice to figure out how to get the best gradient result - so check out the video to see my learning process:

Don't forget to check out our pinterest-boards to find TONS of inspiration for your Neat & Tangled stamps.
Where else do you get your inspiration from? Please let us know?

Thanks so much for stopping by!
