Inlaid Happy Birthday

Hello there!

Mayuri here to share a card using the exclusive 'Stories' stamp set from the Mix Tape October Kit by Scrapbook Circle and the Birthday Tags dies.

I began by stamping the book images from the set with Archival Jet Black ink and then watercolouring them in using a messy watercolouring technique.

I added a few gold ink splats and then heat set the panel before die-cutting one of the Birthday Tags from the centre.

I adhered the panel to a white card base and using an inlaid die-cutting effect, I paper-pieced another tag back in place. I also adhered some gold letters to make them stand out!

To finish, I added a few sequins!

A Look Back at Tags

Hi all, it's Amy here with a bit of a look back on some holiday tags that I have created:

From Our Home to Yours:

Using a journal card, I stamped the Falling Flakes and heat embossed them in white.  The Winter Wishes set is a perfect year round set, it isn't just for the holidays!

Warm Wishes:

The A Lot To Say Nice and Neat die is so versatile!  I love using it as a tag, you can easily punch a hole and thread through pretty ribbon or twine.  On my burlap bag, I decided to use a clothespin.  The Warm Wishes set has been heat embossed in white and I still adore the chalkboard technique!

The Birthday Tags Nice and Neat dies are so much fun!  I cut the To/From tag in a beautiful red and attached a rectangular panel of cork to finish off the tag!  The Thank You is from the Paper Cut Flowers set.

Double Partial Die-Cutting with Birthday Tags

Hey everyone,

Mayuri here to share a card that uses Laura Bassen's wonderful double partial die-cutting technique. I achieved this with the Birthday Tags die-set along with some circle dies - its not as difficult as it may look!

I began by marking out a horizon line on a piece of cardstock to use as a guide for the partial die-cutting technique, and laid down a circle die on top, taking note of where the line was. I then partially die-cut the circle where it met the line by making sure my cutting plate only covered that part of the die and the piece of cardstock. Laura demonstrates this beautifully here.

I removed the circle die and replaced it with the Birthday Tag die, again taking note of where the guideline appeared. This was also partially die-cut in the same way as the circle. All that was left for me to do was cut the connecting lines on either side and I was left with a bespoke die-cut panel!

I stamped a sentiment from the Giving Tree set with black dye ink and set the panel aside. I sponged some Distress inks directly to a white card base starting quite dark at the bottom and fading out towards the top. I then foam mounted the die-cut panel onto the card base.

I stamped the flowers from the Paris set onto some scraps of inky cardstock with black ink, and then fussy cut a few of them out. These was adhered around the aperture and finished with a few Crystal Clear sequins.

I hope you'll try this technique - it was a lot of fun experimenting with the Neat and Tangled dies!

Paper Cut Flowers and Perfect Pearls!

Hey everyone!

Mayuri here to share a card that teams Paper Cut Flowers with Perfect Pearls!

I began by prepping a black card base with an embossing powder tool to remove any static. I then stamped images from the Paper Cut Flowers set with Versamark Ink and brushed lightly with Perfect Gold and Forever Red Perfect Pearls.

I brushed away the excess powder to reveal the awesome pearly image and then lightly spritzed with water to set.

For the sentiment, I die-cut the Birthday Tag from some gold foil cardstock and added a little twine through the hole. This was then foam mounted to the card base.

To finished I sprinkled with some sequins and gemstones.

This card was fairly quick to produce, and if you don't mind getting messy with Perfect Pearls, you can make a quick card set by changing up the colours!

Birthday Tags + Tiny Triangles

Hi, it's Emily here, and today I'm sharing a birthday card using the newly-released Birthday Tags dies, as well as the Tiny Triangles die. I die cut the Tiny Triangles and used it as a stencil. After creating three colours of embossing paste on a Ranger Craft Sheet, I applied the paste to a piece of linen cardstock in three sections and set it aside to dry.

After die cutting both Birthday Tags from patterned paper and Ranger foil cardstock, I layered them with a bit of foam tape and inserted the foil letters into the negative spaces. I used two chartreuse papers from Heidi Swapp's Dreamy 6x6 paper pad and two navy papers from Echo Park's Creative Agenda 6x6 paper pad.

After the embossing paste dried, I adhered it flat to a sheet of chartreuse houndstooth paper which I then popped on to the navy stripes with foam tape. To finish, I stapled white silk ribbon at the top of the tags and tied a bow. Then I adhered the stacked Birthday Tags to the embossing paste panel with foam tape.
