May 2019 Guest Designer | Jill Hawkins

Hello again!

Jill here for my next guest post!

For this card, I blended on some Distress Oxide inks to a piece of Bristol cardstock and then die cut the Birch Leaf

I also cut the leaf from a piece of white cardstock. After that, I inlaid all the pieces. I adhered it all down to the sentiment stamped panel and added some reverse score lines. The sentiment comes from the No Words stamp set. To finish it off, I added some stitching. I completely love how this sentiment's font and this graphic leaf really make the card that fantastically simple. :)

Have a great weekend!

Collage Layout and DIY Embellishment with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters!

I cannot believe we are heading into Thanksgiving this week!
Here in Ohio we've skipped fall and headed straight into Winter.

Which means I had to create my own :)

I typically create 3 types of cards.
1. Scene Card. 2. Floral Arrangement. 3. Clean and Simple
BUT I love all kinds of card styles and I think it's so important to push outside our boundaries.

I took one look at the Hello Fall set and knew I wanted to tackle a collage style card. I love the way they look and there's a few tips to make it really easy. Make sure to check out the video below to hear all about it.

I really love the way the DIY embellishment came out. It's such a fun addition to the card and it adds another texture making the collage more interesting.

In the close up you can see the water splatters and gold perfect pearls splattered on the leaves. I adore the shimmer element that adds!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a happy Thanksgiving!

Glitter Inlay Birch Leaf with Cheiron

Hi there crafty friends! It's Cheiron here and today I've created a Clean and Simple Thanksgiving Card for you using the Birch Leaf stamp and dies and some glitter paper in fabulous fall colors.

To create my card, I cut an A2 card base out of brown card stock, then cut a panel that was slightly smaller. I stamped the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment and then cut a birch leaf out of the center of the panel.

I used the smaller birch leaf die and cut it 5 times in different colors of glitter cardstock then once again from the neutral cardstock. I covered the back of my neutral cardstock leaf with double sided tape then used a jewel picker to pick up different sections of the leaf in all the different colors of the glitter paper then inlaid them into the neutral leaf.

The best part about cutting out 5 different color leaves is that you can use the remaining pieces to make 4 more leaves to use on other cards!

I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful Thanksgiving if you are celebrating this week :)

Let Us Gather and Give Thanks

Hi everyone!  Miriam here today sharing a card featuring the new Birch Leaf stamp set.

The shape of this leaf is perfect for stamping a medallion type pattern.  The leaf isn't perfectly symmetrical, so I wasn't trying to be overly precise and stamped it by hand vice with a MISTI or alignment guide.

The leaves were then colored with Copics.  No shading, just straight coloring using 7-8 fall shades.  I did color the leaves in the exact same manner though, the same spaces are red/yellow/orange on each of the leaves.  In the negative spaces I colored in a dark brown.

For a bit of sparkle and interest, I went over my lightest shade of yellow with a gold Wink of Stella pen.

The sentiment is also from the same set, and was stamped and embossed in gold and popped up over a cardstock mat that I embossed in gold as well.

This is a really easy card to create.  It's a little time consuming to color all the spaces, but it's not 'thinking' coloring, and I love the stained glass look you get.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I Love Fall with Keeway

Hello Fall! With Fall now officially in season, it seems even more than fitting to create a Fall themed card to share with you today! Besides, I just adore everything in our September Release, so I couldn't wait to share more inspiration using those goodies. My project is showcasing the Oh Deer and Birch Leaf sets!

The details on the Birch Leaf die cut is oh so gorgeous. And with such detail, I love to keep it simple and bring it out with some ink blending beneath it. I blended a piece of bristol paper using Mowed Lawn and Tea Dye distress oxide inks. Then, I die cut the Birch Leaf five times. and arranged them to create a delicate frame. I adhered them with adhesive spray and trimmed off any excess hanging off the edges.

I stamped a pair of deers from the Oh Deer stamp set in dark brown hybrid ink and colored them with my copic markers. Then I die cut the images out with their coordinating dies. I also heat embossed a sentiment from the Birch Leaf stamp set in white onto kraft card stock, and trimmed it to a thin strip. I finished the card by adding these pieces with foam squares. Thanks for joining me today!
