Today is also our last post from November guest, Julie Ebersole. It was such a joy having her, and her last card for you is sure to put a smile on your face, and kick start the Christmas season :)

Hello, again, it’s Julie Ebersole today with one last design in my guest series. I love puns, and with this adorable wee elf, well, I couldn’t resist revisiting the Merry Little Christmas stamp set and putting this sweet card together!

I always struggle with mixing patterns so I must admit I tend to use a lot more white space on my projects, but this striped patterned paper and the polka dot washi tape seemed to work really well on this design so I snuck them in.

Thanks so much for checking out my projects this month for Neat and Tangled, and many thanks to Danielle for inviting me! It was super fun to play with these charming stamp sets

Merry, merry! :)

Happy Thanksgiving: Warm Wishes

Hello!  It's Amy here with a winter themed card set to share:

This was a quick set and bonus points for being postal friendly.  They are a clean + simple design with a non-traditional holiday color duo.

Rather than using black cardstock for the chalkboard technique, I decided to go fun and use aqua.  The base is a deep red that makes the Warm Wishes image POP.  I love to step away from the traditional A2 card size, these are 4.25 x 4.25.

For those that celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope your day is filled with family, friends + great food.

Thanks so much for stoppin' by!

Gobble gobble

Hello, friends!

In a few days the United States will celebrate Thanksgiving day! I'm not an American citizen but love the idea of gratitude and giving itself! Turkey is the one of main (if not the main) symbols of this holiday and Neat & Tangled has a great stamp set, Turkey Talk, that you can use to celebrate Thanksgiving day!

I've never thought about the sounds that turkeys make.....gobble gobble? When I saw this stamp I couldn't stop myself from saying it again and again. My mom laughed at me, what am I doing? :) I love all the sentiments in this stamps set and of course turkey image too.

I colored the image with Akashiya Sai watercolor brushes and put it in a hoop using our Hoop die.

I decided to make a hoop look like more realistic and used some fabric for the background. Frankly, I'm a big lover of tasty food, especially tasty turkey, but for vegetarians this sentiment is perfect!

Have a great holiday!

Yours, Sveta.

Santa's Sleigh

We're fortunate to have Alice Wertz back for one last post today.

She put her amazing coloring skills to work to create this adorable Christmas scene featuring our new Santa's Ride stamp set and coordinating dies.

A sweet doily heart and some strategically placed sequins perfectly embellish the card.

Thanks so much to Alice for all her wonderful work the last few months, we have so enjoyed your creations!

November Guest: Julie Ebersole

Hi, it’s Julie Ebersole again, to share a very quick greeting in glittery red, kraft, silver and white—this combination is one of my favorites for holiday cards! I like how the glitter paper gives the Happy Holidays die cut greeting so much flash and sparkle, in contrast to the kraft paper!
I just adore that Tiny Triangle die for backgrounds, too—it’s such a fun, modern touch to have the silvery foil paper peeking through the little cutouts!

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

More November Release goodness!

Hi everyone!

Mayuri here to share my projects for the November release - I didn't get to take part with the DT because I was off filming a class for Craftsy! But, I had to play with the new stamps and dies, and show you what I came up with ;-)

First up, its Bright Baubles:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2015 Release - Bright Baubles / Happy Holidays

This card uses one of my favourite techniques, where I take one image and stamp it repeatedly with Distress Inks. Here, I laid down an oval mask in the centre of a card base and used the christmas tree branches to stamp all the way around.

I then removed the mask and stamped the large sentiment from Happy Holidays with black dye ink in the centre. I paired it with one of the smaller sentiments from the same set and created a few Glossy Accent embellishments with the small bauble images from Bright Baubles. Next up, Christmas Journaling:

For this card, I stamped one of the sentiments from the set with black dye ink onto a piece of the Cosmo Cricket 'Just Add Watercolor' paper, which I'd already added some colour to. I filled the sentiment in and stamped a couple of the stars from Happy Holidays.

I also die cut some stars and hearts from the panel using the new Little Bits dies before foam mounting it to a card base. I had already sponged some Delicata Golden Glitz ink on the base so that it would show through the little die cut apertures! To finish, I die-cut a sentiment using the Happy Holidays die from some gold foil cardstock. Here's what I came up with for Happy Ornaments

This card was really fun, quick and easy to create - I began by white heat embossing the decorative bauble from the set onto a piece of cardstock, and simply smooshing an acrylic block on top! First, you cover the acrylic block with a few dots of ink (reinkers or Dylusions Ink Sprays work really well), and mist with water. Then, you quickly stamp with the acrylic block on top of the embossed area - when you remove the block, the ink starts to move around and blend together!

To finish, I added a sentiment from Happy Holiday and a few sequins! Here's my card showcasing Little Angel:

©Candles in the Garden. Neat and Tangled November 2015 Release - Little Angel / Classic Tag 1

I used the Classic Tag 1 die to create a tag out of a Distress Inked panel from my stash, and then stamped the Sunburst image with Versamark ink. I lightly brushed the stamped areas with gold Perfect Pearls for some sparkle! I used the Seeing Stars die to add a layer of die-cut stars beneath the tag and adhered both to the card front.

I stamped a sentiment beneath the tag from Little Angel and then stamped the angel image onto watercolour paper. I coloured her in with Distress Inks before die-cutting her out with the matching die and foam mounting her to the tag to finish. Here's my last card, using Merry Little Christmas:

A simple bit of 'messy' watercolouring can make any stamp set go so far, and that's what I did here. I began by stamping a sentiment and the presents from both Merry Little Christmas and Santa's Ride with Archival Jet Black ink, and then adding some loose ink splats with Distress Inks. For some interest, I also went in with a white gel pen to add a bit of detail.

That's everything for now! I really hope you enjoyed my take on the November Release!

Thanks for stopping by ;-)

Watercolor Backgrounds with Nina-Marie

Well hello there! It's Nina-Marie back with you today sharing a bright and cheerful card using some of my favorite Neat & Tangled stamps!

If you are a crafter, I'm sure you have heard about the Share Handmade Kindness campaign that has been going on over the past couple of weeks. Sharing things I make with people and giving unexpected acts of kindness is something I absolutely love doing, so this campaign is really special to me and it was what inspired me to use the Kindness Matters sentiment stamp set in my card for today.

I paired the Kindness Matters set with the beautiful Faceted stamp set; I just love the size of this stamp set, as it is perfect for stamping on a full A2 sized card. My original intent was to cover the entire card base with the stamping and watercoloring, but my process changed a little as I went along and I ended up making a more layered design.

To see how I created this card, be sure to watch the video below! And if you enjoy it, be sure to give the video a "thumbs up" on YouTube!

So I hope you have enjoyed my card for today! Thanks so much for stopping by, and be sure to stop back again soon for more inspiration and fun from the Neat & Tangled design team!

xoxo, Nina-Marie :)

Wishing You Peace, Joy, Love & Laughter

Hi, everyone! It's Emily here today and I'm sharing a holiday card using three stamp sets and two of the coordinating die sets. All of the Copic-coloured images are from Santa's Ride. I love that jolly Santa! The skinny tree is from Bright Baubles and the die cut ornaments are from Little Bits. The custom sentiment was created with Happy Holidays.

To ground all of the images, I cut a strip of black cardstock and adhered it to the bottom of the front panel. I wanted to create added visual interest so I used a brush to paint white gesso around the edges of the card base. It frames the scene and highlights the silver glitter ornaments.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
