Well, it's Friday. We made it! And I know I'm supposed to have a video for you for the Getting Started Guide Series, but I don't. Yikes, I'm sorry! (It will be up on Monday and it will be about Copics and other types of pens/markers I like for crafting)
The truth is, yesterday was 70 degrees and sunny here and we took full advantage of it by spending the day at the park. Then I was going to film the video during nap, but the couch was calling my name. And then I figured I'd do it before bed, but I got new shampoo and wanted to try it out. Laugh if you must but it's true! After years of watching the Wen haircare infomercial and seeing it on QVC I had to try it. My hair is a bit wavy and a little frizzy. I wear it in a pony tail 90% of the time because otherwise I need to blow dry and straighten it. I've tried lots of shampoos and products and nothing has really given me results I like. So, after one night of using it I have to say I am very pleased! I still did blow dry my hair (b/c I hate going to bed with wet hair), but I didn't do anything special and my hair looks a whole lot better than it normally would. It just looks really clean and is not really frizzy and feels very soft. I'll continue using it and give you a full report.
So instead of a card I am here with a list of some of my current favorite things.
Sweet Chili Rice Cakes::: a little spice, a little sweet. Satisfies me when I want something to munch on and I don't feel so guilty. (Except when I eat the whole bag).
Smashbox Limitless Eyeliner::: I know, it's expensive. But I don't wear much make up besides eyeliner so I don't mind a little splurge. Plus I need one that won't smudge or run as I chase G around, and this stays put!
Downton Abbey::: If you haven't watched this, do it NOW! It's a period piece, so I didn't think I would like it. Wrong, I LOVE it. Too bad Season 3 doesn't start until Jan. 2013 :(
New Girl::: Cute, quirky, comedy. One of my new favorite shows!
Marcel The Shell::: My sister told me I needed to watch Marcel, and she was right! This cute little shell is an instant pick me up. I posted one video below, but there is a second. I even got the book for G, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On: Things About Me. (He makes me read in the voice...have to say I'm getting pretty good since I've read it about 100 times so far)
Hunger Games::: If you haven't read this yet please do. I know, if you've heard the premise you probably can't figure out why people like it. I was the same way, and I still can't explain why I like it.
Essie Nail Polish in Master Plan::: I usually wear dark nail polish during the Winter months, but with Spring right around the corner it's time to start lightening up. I like this shade. It's a light gray with a hint of purple.
This weekend I'm going to be crafting my life away for Stamping Royalty and the current Paper Crafts Call...what will you be doing?

70 degree weather is a good reason to delay the video! Yay for Copics. I have a few and need to practice more with blending.
ReplyDeleteWe love the sweet chili quakes! My 3 year old likes to get them for daddy so that he can have some too.
I hope to scrapbooks and make some cards this weekend :)
Haha, that Marcel video is funny! I also love the New Girl AND the Hunger Games! The movie comes out in just 2 weeks! Eek!
ReplyDeleteI want to try to finish some projects for Stamping Royalty and Paper Crafts this weekend too. I have a bunch of half finished cards on my desk... I need some serious motivation!
I know why I like the Hunger Games. A brilliant story, masterfully written.
ReplyDeleteI have a new Essie Nail Polish color, It's Called "Buy me a Cameo" do you think my husband will take a hint? No he won't he doesn't even know what a Cameo is...I should start educating him. :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome Lawnscaper!!! I'm super happy to see you as a part of the DT! You're always super inspiring! Also 2 things - The New Girl is my new absolute fave TV show - I love it!! and I'm with you on the Hunger Games!! My sis-in-law told me about it over a yr ago (after she finally comvinced me to read the Twilights - after a year of pleading). when she gave me the breakdown of the story, I thought "ok, she's gone bonkers - why would I want to read that"?!? But I finally caved and have now read them all - and gone so far as renting the audio books from the library - they rock! :)
