Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Friends!

It's Monday again, but at least it's Halloween so that makes it a little better :o)

We had a nice lazy weekend.  We actually got snow on Saturday which was crazy!  It gave us a great excuse to hang around the house in our sweats all day.  It also got me in the mood for the holidays.  We spent a lot of time listening to the new Michael Buble Christmas CD. If you like Christmas music this CD is a must!!

But let's get back to the holiday at hand.  Here is a simple card I made (before baby), that uses 3 different sets from 3 different companies.  I created the background by stamping the moon from Happy Haunting repeatedly. The lights are actually from the Christmas set Holiday Lights by PTI, I just made them orange to fit the Halloween theme. The cat is from Hero Arts and is covered entirely in glossy accents to add a little somethin' somethin'. Hope you enjoy!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a little blog take over by one of my favorite people! ;o)

Papertrey Ink October Blog Hop!

Hello friends!

I am so glad that PTI posts their monthly blog hop challenge a bit in advance. This allowed me to be able to make a card ahead of time since it coincided with the baby's arrival.  I LOVED the inspiration photo this month, and did a pretty literal interpretation for my card keeping it super CAS.
I white heat embossed the Tin Types background onto some orange cardstock, and then used StazOn to stamp the pumpkin over that. I die cut some green paper, and then added a little stitching. I used Tin Types again on the lower half of the card, and finished by stamping the sentiment. Hope you enjoy!

Announcement + Non-Christmas Christmas Card

Hey everyone and Happy Monday! (Are Mondays ever really happy?)  Just wanted to pop in quickly to share some exciting news and a fun card. (This is a long post so be warned!)

As many of you know, I love me some Simon Says Stamp.  Sad but true, I probably place an order every week or so.  If you've never shopped there before you have to check it out.  Of course I shop from other companies and sites, but this is my #1 go to crafty supply site.  I am happy to let you know that I am now an affiliate with this awesome company.  They are a lovely group of people with the greatest customer service.  I've chosen to do this because I am a big supporter of this company and have never been disappointed. I am more than happy to say I am associated with them!
If you'd like to support me and this little old blog by shopping at Simon Says Stamp you can click through to the store using the banner on the right hand side of this page, or any of the links in my supply lists. By going this route it lets them know you are coming from my site.  This new partnership will allow me to continue to grow this blog, try the newest supplies, and create projects and tutorials to share with you all.

Now for a card! I've been trying to play along over on the Hero Arts Blog for their monthly contests.  I really enjoy them because they offer several ideas and themes you can work with.  One of them this month was to make a Holiday card using non-Holiday stamps.  I had JUST gotten these flower stamps in the mail, and immediately knew what I wanted to do!
The green background was made by clear embossing the Magical Background stamp, and then coloring over with Distress Stain (one of my new favorite products!). I added some kraft, and did a little stitching.  The flower was colored using Copics, and I added some bling to make it shine.

Hope you all are doing well! I'm doing my best to keep up with the blog world :o)
