Top 11 of 2011

I've seen a few people do a post of their top 11 favorite projects and thought it would be fun to look back upon the last year.  To be honest 2011 started out rough, but I couldn't be happier with how it is ending. This blog has grown so much, and so have I. More importantly, I have made some really wonderful new friendships. I look forward to 2012 and all it holds.

Here are my favorite 11 projects from 2011, hope you enjoy! Oh, and they are in no particular order :o)

You know I had to put the baby in there :o)

Happy New Year's!

Owl Notes

Hey friends, it's hard to believe this will likely be my last post of 2011! Where did the year go?

Here is another set of cards I made, this time more like stationary.  I went for something fun and whimsical.  I cut some cardstock down and got to work. These were super simple to make, and you could obviously fancy them up if you like. It's nice to have a few of these on hand for when I want to send out a little note.

I stamped the woodgrain background, added a strip of patterned paper and twine, and then stamped and paper pieced the owl.  Super easy!

I wish you all a very safe and happy New Year's! No exciting  plans here, will likely be in bed before midnight :o) See you in 2012!

A Christmas Gift

Hey Friends!

I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday!  Ours was amazing. Every year I say, "This was the best Christmas!" and each year it keeps getting better.  I made several gifts this year, 2 blankets, some ornaments, and this set of cards for my Mother-in-Law.  I used some of my new Hero Arts stamps. Aren't they beautiful?  These cards aren't my usual style, but I wanted to make something that my MIL would like.  These were also super simple to make.  I used the large background stamp, and black heat embossed the whole thing on patterned paper.  It really added great texture and dimension. I then stamped the sentiment, hole punched it, and strung through some embroidery floss.  There were 4 cards total (2 birthday, 2 thank you).  I think she liked them!  Did you make any gifts this year?

**Note that the large background stamp image at stores online is wrong - it is actually the reverse of what is shown. I learned the hard way after I had already bought it.  You can see the correct image on the Hero Arts website when you browse the digital catalog**

Merry Christmas!

Hello friends!

Popping in this fine Christmas Eve to wish you and your families a very happy holiday.  Here is one of my favorite cards I made this holiday season.  Clean and simple with a touch of bling.  I clear heat embossed the wreath, cut out, and colored with distress inks.  I then white heat embossed the flowers, cut them out, and adhered them to the wreath. The rest is pretty self-explanatory :o)

I'm also entering this in over at the Playdate Cafe, they are having a 2 week challenge so plenty of time to enter!

Stamps: Small Poinsettia Blossom, Leafy Vine Wreath, Whimsical Merry Christmas (DeNami Designs)
