Thank You Teacher Cards with Kelly Latevola

Hello Crafters! 

Well it's almost the end of May so you know what that means?!

Schools out for Summer!! 

I sincerely hope you sang that out loud :)

My little peanut is graduating preschool tomorrow and then we are kindergarten bound this Fall! 

Where did the time go?!

I'm so sad. However, I'm also extremely grateful for the amazing teachers he had this year. If you're like me you want to show that appreciation. 

My kiddo actually has two classroom teachers and I wanted them to have similar cards. Thanks to the new Complementary Colors and Paint Night I could stamp more than enough cutie patooties to fill in my cards.

 To ensure that school theme was nice and strong  I added in some of the accessory images from Schoolhouse. This takes the adorable peeps from painters to students with no other effort from me. 

Gotta love the effortless things right? 

I masked the bottom portion of the card to create a border and blended on some salty ocean distress oxide. I wanted my characters to be grounded in that area.  I set those aside and went to working coloring. 

I did really simple one and two color blends for my images. There wasn't a need for detailed coloring since there's so many images to oogle. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out before adhering them to the card base. Some I glued flat and others I popped up.
