Neat & Tangled/Cosmo Cricket Collaboration Week - Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of our Cosmo Cricket collaboration.

Each day this week, two of our designers will be showcasing projects made with Neat & Tangled stamps and Cosmo Cricket's new Just Add Watercolor line.  Be sure to head over to the Cosmo Cricket blog to check out Julie's post from Monday and leave a comment.  She'll draw a winner for a $25 gift certificate to Neat & Tangled.  Of course you'll also want to leave comments here.  At the end of the week one lucky winner will be drawn to receive a 12" Watercolor Paper Deck.

Today we have Amy and Miriam sharing their projects.

Hello, it's Amy sharing a shaker card that I made combining Neat & Tangled along with the fabulous Just Add Watercolor paper from Cosmo Cricket:

Shaker cards are always such a challenge to photog!

Isn't the botanical watercolor paper gorgeous?  I used a bloom from the new Paper Cut Flowers set.  Heat embossing the image on vellum doesn't take away from the overall design.  The center design on the bloom has been colored with a copic marker.

I used the A Lot to Say Nice and Neat die for my shaker window.

My sequin mixture consists of:  Crystal ClearFlat Matte Gold, and Ocean Breeze Satin

I used a different panel for the interior.  This one has the glorious gold accents and a faint geometric bloom.  I very lightly swooshed green paint on parts of the panel.  I stamped the sentiment from the Kindness Matters set on a strip of vellum.

I love using vellum to still let the paper shine.

Hi everyone!  It's Miriam, and I had so much fun with this team up I couldn't stop at just one card!  I was working with the 12x12 paper deck (the one you could win this week!) which consists of both full 12x12 prints as well as several pages of cut apart tags/panels in varying sizes.

The top and bottom strips of this first card were created using one of the cut apart sheets.  I used Kuretake Gansai watercolors on all my projects today, and used a couple shades of blue and pink to create the pattern.

For the main panel I masked off the So Very Blessed sentiment and stamped it with dye ink, then stamped over top with Versamark and clear embossed.  Using a not too wet brush and just a touch of soft blue, I added a wash over the sentiment.

Then I added a couple of torn pieces of vellum beneath each of the watercolor patterned pieces to soften them and stitched them down.

For the next card I wanted to see if you could emboss over the embossed patterns.  Happily, you can! I embossed the sentiment, on one of the 4x4 cut apart pieces and added some watercoloring and then let it dry.  The secondary sentiments were embossed in gold and popped up.

Finally, I had to pull out Origami Map since it lends itself so well to watercoloring.  For the background I chose one of the 12x12 patterns and added a rainbow of watercolors to it.  Then I stamped/embossed/die cut the Origami Map and added rainbow watercoloring in the reverse direction.

I layered the map over a black die cut and popped the entire piece up as well as the sentiment.

These were so fun to make.  Playing with that Cosmo Cricket watercolor pad was addicting, don't be surprised if you see some more of these cards from me!
