Our September guest designer, Julia Altermann, is back today with a final post for us. Her projects this month have been wonderful, and we're sad to see her go! Today she's featuring our Dala Horse set, and you're just going to be blown away by the dimension she achieves. Here's Julia:
Hello crafters! It’s Julia and I’m back with my last guest post for Neat & Tangled! Today I want to show you how you create very subtle dimension on your cards for additional interest.
I started out by creating my background with a few Copic Markers and the Spritzer tool by Tim Holtz. It’s an easy way to create a colorful background without having the mess of Distress Inks or even watercolor. Next, I die-cut the small horse from the Dala Horse die set from Copic-friendly paper and used some brown markers to color it completely.
Thanks to the many small dies in the Dala Horse set, I die cut the little ornamental “saddle” piece as well and glued it on my horse using Tombow adhesive. I mounted the horse (pun intended) with foam tape on a piece of vellum which I had ripped into shape – it’s a great material to use on your cards because you can see through to your background, but everything is muted so the focus remains on whatever is in the foreground.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you got inspired and enjoyed my projects. Thank you to Neat & Tangled for having me!
Thanks again to Julia for all the inspiration this month!
