Hello everyone, it's Nina-Marie here today and I'm so glad you've stopped by for a elegant holiday card that I have created with some of our newest stamps and dies!
You know how we always run into having lots of leftover scraps of paper that we've die cut a bunch of things from? What usually happens is we simply throw those things away. However, if you look at it right, you can use those "negatives" and turn them into beautiful cards!
In today's project, I've taken our Happy Holiday dies and the stars from our Little Bits die set (both brand new for this year's holiday season!), and created a glittery background using the negative! This is really fun and easy to do...
I simply die cut the Happy Holiday dies over and over with my Big Shot machine and then used the stars from Little Bits to fill in the spaces of the background. Once I had filled up my background with die cut areas, I layered this panel on top of a glitter cardstock panel, which was cut to the exact same dimensions as this die cut panel.... and that's all there is to it! Now isn't that just super easy????
Now of course, this card needed a bit more embellishing, so I die cut a vellum tag using our Tag die (also brand new!) and heat embossed some sentiments from Happy Holidays onto the tag at an angle on the tag. The word "holiday" is created by layering a bunch of die cuts together made from black cardstock, and cutting off the "s".
To add some sparkle and shine, I used Wink of Stella clear glitter on the holiday sentiment and scattered sequins around the tag. I also tied some sheer black ribbon and red and white baker's twine around the top of the tag.
So that's going to finish up my card for today... I hope you've enjoyed and that it's inspired you to try using some of your negative pieces from your die cuts rather than throwing them away! Thanks so much for stopping by today and happy creating!
xo, Nina-Marie :)
