Christmas Cards using Gelatos

Hello!

I thought I'd get the jump on my Christmas cards (well, four of them anyway lol) and that I'd share them with you today. They were actually SUPER fast to make and look like I spent quite a lot of time on them!

Here they are

To begin with I heat embossed the tag image from Santa's Tags onto watercolour cardstock:

I wanted to create a really pretty ombre effect on the tags, so I went straight to my trusty Faber Castell Gelatos :)

First I laid down the colour (you'll note I left the bottom section completely colour-free) this is so I could get a nice fading-off of the colour at the very bottom.

Next I spritzed with water, and used my finger to smooth out the colour. I made sure to rub really well in the centre where the two colours met, so that I got a nice blended colour.

Next I stamped the sentiments and heat set them. I chose sentiments from Merry and Bright.

After this was done, I began to compile the cards and the embellishments I chose. For some fun and some sparkle, I decided to glitter up some plain little clothes pegs that I picked up at a craft store.

To do this I smeared some Faber Castell Gel Medium onto one 'face' of the peg, then poured the glitter over the top (and tapped off the excess). The Gel Medium does a great job of holding the glitter in place.

Here are all the cards singularly :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE those stamps and I'm really happy with how these cards came out!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll give Gelatos a go on your upcoming projects!

See you again soon!
