Happy Earth Day!
I'm here today with a special post and sneak peek to celebrate.
Little known fact: I have my Bachelor's degree in Biology, and my original plan was to get my Master's in Conservation Biology. Well, I got pregnant (twice), so that got put on the back burner. I still try to do my part when it comes to helping our environment because it is very near and dear to my heart.
I made a card for
Simon Says Stamp that is all about recycling. How so, you ask? Well, first of all I recycled one of my old card layouts (because I liked it a lot). You can see the original card
HERE. Secondly, I recycled one of these babies
Every Thursday the husband and I get chai tea lattes from Starbucks and I save the sleeves. I reuse them for various things, but here is what I did for this particular card
I unfolded and cut out a portion of the sleeve. I sprayed it with my white Mister Huey's, but that sleeve seriously just sucked it up! I needed something a little thicker to get more coverage so I got out some white acrylic paint. That did the trick!
And here is another way to save some trees...do you have a jar/bowl/box of scraps like this? (Truth be told I have 3 separate containers with various scraps). Why not put some of those things to use?? I fished through here and found a few things that would work perfectly.
Here is a sneak peek of my card, to see it in it's entirety head over to the S
imon Says Stamp Blog and check it out.
Let me know if you use any "recycling" in your paper crafts!
