Rubeena's Crafting Anniversary Blog Hop Day Two!

Hello friends, Danielle here! Welcome to Rubeena's Crafting Anniversary 2-Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Nina's blog. This hop is epic with more than 60 guests and over $600 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive! Hop along so you can learn about why we create and how much joy it brings us! For details on day one of the hop, you can visit this post.

My card today just about sums up why I love to craft - good vibes only! When I am in my craft room, being creative, I feel nothing but joy! Beautiful colors, fun stamps, clever dies - there is no limit to what I can create.  Crafting allows me to be free. It's a great form of meditation for me, often bringing a sense of calm to an otherwise crazy day, quieting my mind. And because of crafting I have met some of my very best friends!

For this card, I stamped the large triangle from our Triangle Pattern Builder stamp set repeatedly in a variety of Distress Ink Oxide colors, and then spritzed lightly with water.  While that was drying, I stamped our Good Vibes sentiment, and cut it out. To adhere I used some foam adhesive, and then finished it off with some Clear Mix sequins

I hope this card brings little brightness to your day :)

I'm so happy Rubeena invited me to hop along for such a wonderful celebration! Now keep on moving - your next stop is Cheiron!

The full hop order for today:

In celebration of this anniversary, Rubeena has several amazing sponsors. Winners will be randomly selected from comments left on all the blogs. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, September 5 on this page. Winners will have up to 2 weeks to contact Rubeena at ararerubycrafts@gmail.com to claim their prizes.

GIVEAWAY!
We are also doing a giveaway here! Leave a comment on this post to be entered to win our Triangle Pattern Builder stamp set, Good Vibes stamp set, and Clear Mix sequins! Winner will be announced September 2nd!

For my card today I was a little sneaky and used a new stamps you haven't even seen yet! They are part of our June release coming next week. It's a new set I designed called Magnolia. To create this card I stamped, die cut, and colored several of the floral images from stamp set, and then just placed them on my card from to figure out how I wanted them arranged. Once I figured that out, I set them aside and stamped the sentiment. I then came back and adhered the flowers with foam tape.

At that point it still seemed like it needed something more, so I grabbed my Nuvo Glue Pen and Gilding Flakes to add a few gold touches.

Theses are the Copics I used to color my flowers!

For the hop, I am giving away a $25 gift certificate to the Neat and Tangled shop! All you have to do is leave a comment - what's your favorite coloring tool? Copics, colored pencils, watercolors?! The winner will be announced Saturday, June 9th.

Thank you so much for hopping along today, and I do hope you'll take some time to join in the coloring fun this month!

Your next stop on the hop is the Paper Smooches blog!

Have a great weekend!

Layton's Legacy Card Drive & Fundraiser Blog Hop

Today I am so honored to be part of such a special blog hop!
This event was organized by Lea Lawson in her son, Layton's, honor to help the families of children in the NICU at The University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. There are 50 beds in that NICU, and it is ALWAYS full. In honor of Layton's birthday, Lea is raising money to purchase substantial Starbucks gift cards that can be given to these parents as they find themselves thrust into NICU life. Please head to Lea's blog to read more of her story.

Now, here's how you can help:
WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

Neat & Tangled / Tonic Collaboration - Day 2

Hi Friends!  Welcome back for Day 2 of our collaboration with Tonic USA!  Each day this week we will be sharing projects featuring N&T and Tonic products on both the Neat & Tangled and Tonic USA blogs, there are also two big prizes to be won.

Here at Neat & Tangled we'll be selecting one lucky comment from our collaboration blog posts to receive a $75 credit to spend at Tonic. AND, Tonic will select a commenter from their blog to win a $75 credit to the Neat & Tangled store.

Today Kay and Danielle are sharing with us.

First we have Kay:

My card today uses the Magical Day stamp set and dies and the So Many Sentiments stamp set from Neat and Tangled, along with some beautiful Pink Opal Glimmer Paste from Tonic Studios!

This is my first time using the Glimmer Paste and let me tell you, I want to run out and buy one of every color now! That stuff is so fun! I also had the pleasure of using the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform for the first time. I love it!

I used the Geometric Blooms stencil and spread the Pink Opal Glimmer paste over the top of it to create this sparkly pretty background for my unicorn.

I colored the unicorn with Copic Markers and cut it out with the coordinating die. I stamped the sentiment from So Many Sentiments stamp set onto black card stock. It was heat embossed with white, then cut out with the banner die from Scalloped Dies.  I adhered the unicorn and the sentiment with foam tape to the beautiful sparkly Glimmer pasted background!

Really such a fun and easy way to fancy up a card! I'm hooked! :)

Next up is Danielle:

Hello friends! I am absolutely obsessed with the Nuvo Jewel Drops - these dry with a translucent finish which are gorgeous! I typically use them to create droplet like embellishments on my cards, but I wanted to do something different for today!

I took out my Geometric Circles stencil and placed it over my card front. I squirted three pretty big blobs of Nuvo Jewel drops (in Limoncello, Pale Periwinkle, and Rose Water) around the middle of the stencil, and used a plastic card to scrape it across the stencil to make it smooth. I didn't worry about neatly covering the whole front, as I wanted a more free form look to the pattern. I also didn't worry about the colors mixing, as I was hoping they would blend together a bit. You can see the results below!

I love how soft and lovely this turned out!  I then finished it off with some sentiments from the So Many Sentiments stamp set.

Because of how the Nuvo Jewel Drops are designed, they dry with the most dreamy translucent, shiny finish!

I hope this inspires you to use your products in new ways!
