Shine bright like a diamond!

Hello there, Mayuri here to share a card I made using a couple of images from the Sparkle and Shine stamp set.

I created the background panel by stamping with the back of the diamonds in various Distress inks - this gave me a sort of watery halo for when I stamped the image the right way round in black ink.

This quick and easy technique works well with stamps that have symmetrical images, though sometimes I have experimented with those that aren't - you still get an equally interesting effect!

I trimmed the panel and adhered to the front of a card base. I grabbed a glassine bag and filled it with sequins of varying sizes and colours before sealing shut with Glossy Accents. This was adhered to the card front with strategically placed foam pads!

Finally, the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto a speech bubble die-cut that was lying around on my desk, waiting to be used! This also covered up those unsightly foam pads too! :-)

I also added a wood veneer butterfly to the composition - I smeared some Versamark ink onto it, covered in silver embossing powder and heat set.

Thanks for stopping by!

April Guest Designer: Teri Anderson!

Hello friends! Happy Friday!

Today here with another card from our amazing guest designer, Teri Anderson!

She stamped Diamonds with Distress Ink on watercolor paper, then used a water brush to spread the color around to get that perfect messy, artsy look! After the ink dried she did some fun embellishing with enamel dots, pink floss, and gems! The sentiment is from Kindness Matters.

I love everything about this card! The colors are so bright and cheerful :)

Have a great weekend!
Danielle

Video: Watercolor, stamping, glitter, done!

Hi there, happy sunday!

We all love watercolors right, now.. don't we? And gold seems to be hot also, so I combined both (although I know gold will never be my favorite color).
This card is quite simple - a bit of watercolor, a bit of flicked perfect pearls, some stamping and some glitter - that's it. Quick and easy to do!

Watch the video below to see how it was created.
This is my first Video for Neat & Tangled, so I have to say that my accent might be funny for you - please don't laugh ;)

Thanks for watching, have a nice day! :)

Happy Sunday!

 Hi everyone,

it's Christine on this lovely sunday! (Spring shows here in Germany - I love it!). My weekends are always crafty, so I have two cards to share with you:

For the first card I created a nice, bold watercolor-background. I put some distress inks onto my crafty sheet (I used worn lipstick and mustard seed - they work so cool together, for sure one of my favorite combos for watercolor techniques), added some water with my mister and put white cardstock on it. I never use watercolor-paper, but it still works. After it dries I put it underneath a heavy box to flatten out.
Then I used the gorgeous, brand new Diamonds stamp and white embossed it onto that bright background. I also added some shadows to the diamonds for even more dimension. The sentiment is a mix-and match of different stamps from On the corner additions. That's it - so easy, yet eyecatching!

The second card is all about nautical. I have a few paper pads with nautical papers. I picked this one because it matched a few of my DYI enamel dots very well and I badly wanted to use them. I rounded some corners and stitching lines to add some more interest to this very simple card. Hope Anchors is such an amazing combo of sentiment and image.
