Still Playing Favorites

Hi friends! Sorry I skipped my usual Wednesday post, but I've been having technical difficulties over here. Luckily I think everything is squared away so I'm getting back on track.

On Monday I was so happy to get to share this card for the new A Blog Named Hero Challenge Blog. If you haven't stopped by there yet be sure to. It's a challenge blog dedicated to Hero Arts, and this has been a week of celebrating it's start.  LOTS of great cards and inspiration over there!

For my card on Monday I had used some of my favorite Hero Arts stamps, and one of them happens to be this new flower set.  Sometimes I get on a kick when I really like a stamp/product and crank out several cards. So here is another one using the same set!

Hope you have a great weekend! See you Monday.

A Blog Named Hero Celebration!

Hey friends! I am sooo excited for today's post.  If you haven't heard there's a NEW challenge blog on the block and this one is dedicated to the ever fabulous Hero Arts!  It's called A Blog Named Hero and it was the brain child of Linda and Mary Dawn, two of my most favorite ladies. It's a blog designed for crafters who love Hero Arts. There will be two challenges a month that welcome (but do not require) the use of Hero Arts products. It's even been given "official approval" by Hero Arts themselves!

To help introduce this blog to the world they put together a week long celebration with 15 guest designers showcasing their favorite Hero Arts products. Today is Day 1 of the celebration, and I am over the moon to be one of the guest designers (as well as Jennifer McGuire and Virginia Lu).  Here is a little sneaky peek of my creation, to see the card in it's entirety head on over to A Blog Named Hero to check it out! Be sure to comment over on the blog because I'm pretty sure there will be some giveaways ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday Funday

Well it's Friday, we made it!  Too bad I'm sick :( I'm not sure if it's allergies or a cold, either way it's taking it's toll on me.  Today is going to be sunny and almost 80 degrees, crazy for March. I'm going to muster up all my energy to get outside and enjoy it.

Popping in quick to share a bright, fun card with you today in celebration of this gorgeous weather!

I white heat embossed the flowers and sentiment, the faux stitching I did with my white gel pen. I distress inked the edges of the flower just to make them pop a little.

Hope you all have a great weekend! Be sure to stop by on Monday for a VERY special post! ;o)

Inspired By

Hello, hello. So excited to be here with my first post as  Lawnscaping Design Team Member!  As I mentioned before, I will be focusing more on scrapbook layouts for the challenges with an occasional card.

This time the challenge is "Inspired By".
This challenge is sponsored by Lawn Fawn, and they are giving away a free stamp set to the winner!

Lately when I hit a creative slump I turn to Pinterest. That's what I did for this challenge, and I came across a tutorial for rolled paper flowers.  While the flowers are AMAZING, and I hope to try them some day, I was more inspired by the layout and colors.

I white heat embossed the same flower from the Flutter By set, and just cut some to be different sizes. I love the colors, I think they look really nice against the black and white photo. Be sure to head over to the Lawnscaping Blog to see what the other girls were inspired by, and play along yourself!

Young Crafters Unite

Popping in REAL quick to share a card I made for the current YCU challenge. This time it was clear cards, which are always challenging but fun.  The hardest part is usually trying to get a decent picture!

I used some washi tape (the black), and I paper pieced the flowers and faux washi tape from the Basic Grey Plumeria paper pad. It was actually an entire 6x6 page, but I just cut out the part with the flowers and "tape".

Hope you're having a good week!

Supplies
*The washi tape was in a kit I got from Studio Calico*
